Jackson Pollock•Born in Cody, Wyoming (1912)

•Known for his huge paintings he made by splattering, throwing and dripping paint onto his canvases

•Used old hardened brushes and sticks and anything else that would splatter paint the way he liked. He even used kitchen items such as a turkey baster to paint.

Going West

•Jackson called his style Action Painting

•When he was 8 years old he moved to California. Many American Indians lived in the area.

•Because of this influence, Jackson put mythological Indian creatures and symbols into some of his paintings.
