The FCNL building, originally constructed during the Civil War, had serious structural problems, outdated systems and significant maintenance concerns. The new, reconstructed building provides the Quaker organization with increased space and a safer working environment.
“Green” features include photovoltaic panels, radiant floors, a green roof, and 13 geothermal wells drilled 300 feet deep to provide a supply of water at a constant temperature for more efficient heating and cooling.
FCNL achieved Silver LEED certification from USGBC.
