Cases

Brazil

• Problem Statement:• The displacement of the university from an industrial society to a

post-industrial society and its new roles, require research into new organizational forms and new proposals to restructure higher education institutions. Brazil has a model called meta model for this case, they study this model.

Brazil

• Methodology:• In the first step of this study, the literature on the entrepreneurial

university was reviewed.• The second step consisted in processing the elements with the

necessary significance level for interpretation.• The third step, the external evaluation tool for the reaccreditation of

Brazilian Higher Education Institutions were analyzed.• Last step, the information was consolidated.

Brazil

• Outcomes:• One can therefore infer that based on this meta-model for the

entrepreneurial university, the entrepreneurial vision dimension is linked to notions of the projected image and mission.

• The entrepreneurial university promotes internal changes and ruptures in order to adapt to the tensions arising from the environment and looks for flexibility and efficiency through new structures of authority and ways of allocating resources.

Turkey

• Problem Statement:• only 13% of public universities in Turkey emphasize entrepreneurship

in their strategic statements; hence public universities in Turkey cannot defined as “entrepreneurial universities”. That emphasize entrepreneurship education in their strategies have a higher rate (26%). Another important fact is that universities that emphasize both entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education in their strategies are very few (4%).

Turkey

• Methodology:• Based on the qualitative content analysis of the related Web sites

• Study uses the information of the public universities that are published on their web sites in academic year of 2010-2011.

Turkey

• Outcomes:• universities in Turkey has a higher intention of teaching

entrepreneurship rather than acting as entrepreneurs.

• As strategic management process requires the diffusion of broad/organization wide strategies into functional unit strategies and policies.

Suggestion for A Model Using Financial Support

opportunities to combat unemployment.

Suggestion for A Model Using Financial Support

2. Model for Universities

Suggestion for A Model Using Financial Support

entrepreneurship to students who want to attend Entrepreneurship Class.• If universities want to start this education, they can combine the

syllabus with this lesson.

Flowchart of University Entrepreneurship Lesson

Romania

without a clear goal for the future.

Romania• Solution:• creating a new educational system that will stimulate the building of a strong

confidence in their own and determine to be successful and competitive.• Fostering innovation and entrepreneurial universities model by putting short,

medium, and long term solutions.Three levels of development;• First level: development of entrepreneurial education for students in

engineering.• Second level: stimulation of students in engineering.• Third level: Tracking of graduates in engineering.

Russia

• Problem Statement: • The innovation in Russia lacks the activity of enterprises in research

and development that they order third party organizations, including organizations of the state sector of science and universities. Main volume of scientific researches fundamental character is not in the universities.

Russia

• Solution:• Using Triple Helix model. • A Triple Helix of university-industry-government interactions is the key

to innovation in increasingly knowledge-based societies.

Russia

• Why Triple Helix?• To get rid of the “rigid” structure and lack of linearity and uncertainty

in the innovation process.• To create a basis of construction networks, to imply the need for

transformation in the innovative development of the state functions of universities, scientific organizations and firms and include it in the industrial interests.• The universities carry out the main volume of training, including

higher qualification, with a weak research base and the modest scale of financing.

• Entrepreneurship is considered as an innovation practice.

• Different cases and problems can be solved by Entrepreneurial Universities concepts.

• All cases shared with increasing economical and social value for the country.
