Everyone admires confident people. Some people seem to be born with it, while others struggle to find it their whole lives. Even if you are not born with a sense of confidence, it is a trait that can be learned, practiced, and improved. When you focus on increasing your confidence, people find themselves drawn to you, so it’s worth the effort to learn how to focus on improving your sense of self-worth if you find it’s something that you struggle with.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF BEING CONFIDENTConfidence and health are related because the better you feel, the more confident you are, and vice versa. Those that have confidence often find it easier to set health goals that last. With confidence, you learn to acknowledge your successes, which spurs you on to set higher goals and increases your desire to achieve them.

If improved health is a goal for you, whether you are looking to increase your activity level, get more sleep, eat more nutritiously, or avoid negative or addictive behaviors, increasing your confidence will help focus your mind on improving your physical health.

WHY AFFIRMING YOUR CONFIDENCE MATTERSPeople who answer questions directly, speak clearly, and hold their heads high are often held in high esteem and are generally more successful. When we are not confident, those around us pick up on it. Because our children often mimic our behavior, it’s important that we show confidence, so that they can be instilled with a strong sense of their own self-worth as well.

HOW TO BE MORE CONFIDENTConfidence can’t be built overnight, but there are steps you can take to build your self-esteem so that eventually it becomes ingrained.

Acknowledge Your Strengths

It’s okay to admit that you have qualities that others admire! It’s important to remember that for every shortcoming you may feel you have, there are others that focus on your positive attributes, and you should too!

2 Celebrate Your Successes

Keep a written list of all your achievements. When you see your list of accomplishments in writing, it helps to reaffirm your successes and it can boost your mood and confidence.

3 Set Some Goals

Without knowing where you want to go, it’s hard to know if you have gotten there! Plan how you wish to improve your confidence and be specific about your goals for improving your confidence.

4 Banish Negative Thinking

Nobody enjoys being around negative people, and our thoughts have a huge influence on our actions and our level of confidence. Practice dismissing thoughts that are anything but positive when it comes to how you think of yourself. Once you get into the habit of thinking of yourself in only a positive light, it becomes automatic and your confidence will soar.
