Halloween Disco - Friday 18th October:
Don’t forget that our Halloween Disco is
booked for next Friday 18th October in
the school hall. Reception & KS1 disco will
be from 5-6pm and KS2 from 6.15-
7.15pm. Come along in your scariest cos-
tume! Entrance fee of £2 will be payable on the
door. There’ll be hot dogs on sale along
with cakes and an Unlucky Dip!
Pumpkin Carving Competition
We are also having a pumpkin carving competition during the school day on Fri
18th Oct, 50p per entry. Children can bring in their carved creations to display in
the hall and then they will be judged. There will be a winning prize for each class!
Keep Perranporth Tidy - School Litter Pick
Our first ’School Litter Pick Day’ of this year is scheduled for next Tuesday 15th Octo-
ber . On this morning we are encouraging children to walk to school and collect litter
on their route. There will be a prize for the class who have the most contributions of
rubbish that day - an incredible trip to Suez Energy Recovery
Centre! We hope that this morning will encourage children to
think more about littering problems, about not just walking past
litter and ultimately not dropping litter themselves. There will be
two bins so that recyclable litter can be correctly recycled, so
please do feel free to separate whatever you find.
We hope as many of you as possible will join in with this exciting event and help
keep our streets litter free and inspire our children. We would like to say a huge
thank you to Faye Clifton and Green and Blue for organising these brilliant litter
picks and being so supportive of our school and community! Thank you!
Year 6 - Secondary School Transfers
A reminder to parents of children in Year 6 that secondary school transfer applications must
be completed by 31st October.
Walking Home
Unfortunately we’ve had another report of a ‘near miss’ with a child walking
home and a car. Thankfully the driver had quick reactions and avoided any
kind of accident. Please can we ask parents of children who walk home unac-
companied to strongly reiterate messages of awareness of cars, crossing
roads and general road safety to their children. Thank you.
Building Learning Power Workshop
A huge thank you to those parents and families that came to our BLP Workshop on
Tuesday afternoon. We were thrilled at their enthusiasm to get involved in this great
initiative at our school. The workshop was expertly led by our BLP ambassadors and
Mr Harris. The children spoke confidently and eloquently about their experience of
BLP and the brilliant effects it is having on their learning and others around the
school. Parents also did a wonderful job of trying out the various different activities
and showing their very own BLP skills and strategies too - the cup towers got very
competitive!
If you weren’t able to make it this time; there’s lots of BLP information on the Class
Dojo and Mr Harris, as our BLP Champion, is only to happy to explain what BLP is do-
ing for Perranporth too. Feel free to catch him or indeed any of the staff at the school
gate or make an appointment .
