• Muscle coordination peaks in the 20’s and 30’s and then declines ages 30 through 60

Sexual Development

• Education expands the adults knowledge and understanding of sexual behavior – promoting positive feelings

• Helps promote communication and openness in intimate relationships

• With the goal to achieve pleasure and sexual satisfaction

• Excitement• Plateau• Orgasm• Resolution

Psychosocial Development

• Strong sense of identity • Erikson - Intimacy VS Isolation– Self-reflection is the tool needed to share

innermost thoughts– The individual must learn to be truly open and

capable of trust (when do we learn trust?)– Intimacy is not just sex, but how we express

ourselves in our male and female roles
