Is designed to measure how well students acquire the skills and knowledge described in the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS).

The GPS content areas are phased in

according to a set schedule.

The CRCT will always align to the

required state curriculum.

Under the NCLB legislation, Georgia selected the CRCT as the assessment tool for determining Adequate Yearly Progress for elementary and middle schools.

8th graders MUST score 800> in Reading AND Math

8th graders MUST also earn a 70%> in 4 out of 5 subjects EACH semester; two of which must be Math and Language Arts.

CRCT scores may be used for placement in intervention or enrichment classes.

Promotion requirements for students with IEP or ESOL services may vary.

7th graders MUST score 800> on ALL sections of the CRCT:

Reading

Language Arts

Math

Science

Social Studies

CRCT is not a promotion requirement for

6th graders. It is great practice prior to

entering 7th and 8th grade!

CRCT scores are also used for placement

in intervention or enrichment classes.

6th graders MUST earn a 70%> in 4 out

of 5 subjects EACH semester; two of

which must be Math and Language Arts.

Make sure your child is present EACH day during CRCT testing.

Make sure your child arrives at school on time.

Make sure your child is well rested and eats a healthy breakfast.

Try to limit distractions at home during the week of CRCT Testing.

Put the dates for CRCT on your family calendar and post it in a common place in your home as a reminder.

Encourage your children and boost their confidence regarding the test.

Most students who attend school regularly and are conscientious about their school work do well on the CRCT.

Wear comfortable clothes

Bring your glasses (if you wear them)

Relax – Don’t Stress

Think Positive!

LISTEN to all oral directions

READ all written directions

Erase stray marks
