Landslide

LS20170403COL

This map illustrates areas potentially affectedby the mudflow, extracted from a Pleiadesand GeoEye-1 satellite images acquired onthe 10 April 2017 over Mocoa city and itsoutskirts, in Putumayo Department, Colombia.Inside some neighbourhoods of the city ofMocoa, flood waters and mudflow havereceded compared with previous analysisperformed by UNOSAT using an image from 4April 2017. The situation as of 10 April 2017reveals: 22 km of roads seem potentiallyaffected and about 1,300 buildings are withinareas which are still experiencing floods andmud flow. It is likely that flood waters andmudflow could have been systematicallyunder or overestimated along highlyvegetated areas and within built-up urbanareas. This analysis has not yet beenvalidated in the field. Please send groundfeedback to UNITAR-UNOSAT.
