Psalm Response
Lenten Gospel Acclamation
Apostle’s Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Prayer of the Faithful
Preparation of the Gifts: Change Our Hearts

Mystery of Faith Save us, Savior of the world. For by your Cross and Resurrection you have set us free.
Amen

Muchos Miembros Hay Estribillo
Abre mis ojos, ayúdame a ver.
Abre mis oídos, ayúdame a oír.
Abre mi corazón, ayúdame a amar.
Puente
4. Ven y descansa en mi corazón. Ven y descansa, te aliviare.

Give and it will be given unto you– XIV
Is Father really telling you that you shouldn’t give money to the parish? I have repeated myself several times in these articles that they are not designed to get you to give more money to the parish. These articles are about the spirituality of giving, and if you only pretend to give to Jesus through the Church, don’t you think he sees it? If your attitude is “all the Catholic Church wants is my money!” don’t you think Jesus sees that too? Our attitude about giving is a spiritual matter and reflects the true state of our souls in a way which few other markers help us to discern. Because we feel that our money is our own private property, and no one can tell us how to spend it, it comes down to an issue of letting Jesus into our hearts through our finances. If you have little, and can only give a few cents to the offertory and it is a true sacrifice, given cheerfully, it is true indication of your soul’s health. If you have lots, and in a miserly way give only a tiny amount to the offertory, that also reveals the state of your soul. If the salvation of our souls is truly what we are about in the Catholic Church [and it is!] then doesn’t it follow that we must challenge ourselves to give to God with the right intention? IHM pray for us. Fr. Jerry
Jerry
