Dear families of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, The word of God serves up a tremendous feast for us today. Isaiah beckons all who hunger and thirst to come to the Lord for satisfaction. The psalmist cries out, “The hand of the Lord feeds us; he answers all our needs” (Psalm 145:16). Saint Paul tells us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Finally, in the Gospel, we hear the story of the miraculous feeding of over five thousand people from a mere five loaves and two fish. Most of us have our material needs met on a day-to-day basis. These scriptures, nevertheless, have much to say to the contemporary believer. We must ask ourselves, “Where are my deepest hungers? Where are my thirsts?” After material needs are satisfied and, in some cases, over-satisfied, many people still experience a deep longing for spiritual balance and well-being. As the loaves and fish are multiplied in today’s Gospel, perhaps our prayer can be a longing for the satisfaction of the deepest needs that only God can fill. I am sure most of you have come to understand that our spiritual needs and love can only be fulfilled by God. We have been tested over the last many months to hold on to the belief that this is all in God’s plan and we must have faith in His reasons. Some more than others have struggled with the reasons but what it comes down to is not to fear because all is in God’s hands. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us. Father Quang
+++++ Queridas familias del Inmaculado Corazón de María, La Palabra de Dios nos brinda hoy una tremenda fiesta. Isaías llama a todos los que tienen hambre y sed para que vengan a satisfacerse en el Señor. El salmista proclama: “Abres tú la mano, y sacias de favores a todo viviente” (Salmo 145:16). San Pablo nos dice que nada puede separarnos del amor de Dios. Finalmente, en el Evangelio, escuchamos sobre el milagro de la multiplicación de los cinco panes y dos pescados con que se alimentaron a más de cinco mil personas. Nuestras necesidades diarias suelen estar cubiertas. Sin embargo, estas lecturas tienen mucho que decir al creyente contemporáneo. Debemos preguntarnos: “¿Dónde está mi hambre más profunda? ¿De qué estoy sediento?”. Una vez satisfechas las necesidades materiales y, en algunos casos, más que satisfechas, mucha gente sigue ansiando tener equilibrio y bienestar espiritual. Al multiplicarse los panes y pescados en el Evangelio de hoy, tal vez nuestra oración es anhelar que nuestras necesidades más hondas sean satisfechas por el único que puede hacerlo: Dios. Estoy seguro de que la mayoría de ustedes han llegado a comprender que nuestras necesidades espirituales y el amor sólo puede ser cumplido por Dios. Evangelio Mt 14, 13-21 En aquel tiempo, al enterarse Jesús de la muerte de Juan el Bautista, subió a una barca y se dirigió a un lugar apartado y solitario. Al saberlo la gente, lo siguió por tierra desde los pueblos. Cuando Jesús desembarcó, vio aquella muchedumbre, se compadeció de ella y curó a los enfermos. Como ya se hacía tarde, se acercaron sus discípulos a decirle: “Estamos en despoblado y empieza a oscurecer. Despide a la gente para que vayan a los caseríos y com-pren algo de comer”. Pero Jesús les replicó: “No hace falta que vayan. Denles ustedes de comer”. Ellos le con-testaron: “No tenemos aquí más que cinco panes y dos pescados”. Él les dijo: “Tráiganmelos”.
Luego mandó que la gente se sentara sobre el pasto. Tomó los cinco panes y los dos pescados, y mirando al cielo, pronunció una bendición, partió los panes y se los dio a los discípulos para que los distribuyeran a la gente. Second Reading Rom 8:35, 37-39 Brothers and sisters: What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword? No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Gospel Mt 14:13-21 When Jesus heard of the death of John the Baptist, he withdrew in a boat to a deserted place by himself. The crowds heard of this and followed him on foot from their towns.
When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, and he cured their sick. When it was evening, the disciples approached him and said, “This is a deserted place and it is already late; dismiss the crowds so that they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.” Jesus said to them, “There is no need for them to go away; give them some food yourselves.” But they said to him, “Five loaves and two fish are all we have here.” Then he said, “Bring them here to me, ” and he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. Tak-ing the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds. They all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up the fragments left over— twelve wicker baskets full. Those who ate were about five thousand men, not counting women and children.
The Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

We have 2 options available to at this time We will be doing 5 students per Mass with the family sitting outside. The children will process in with Fr. and be in the church for mass. They will then process outside with Father at the end of the mass. Children MUST wear MASKS 1. First Communions for the English and Spanish Children will take place on weekends and week days according to the following schedule. English and Spanish families will sign up for the mass they would like to attend based upon a first come first serve sign-up.
Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 8am mass (Bi-Lingual) (all Saturdays throughout August), Sunday, August 2, 2020 9am English and 10:45am Spanish (all Sunday's throughout August), All Mondays in August at the 8am English masses All Tuesdays in August at the 8am Spanish masses All Wednesdays in August at the 8am English masses All Thursdays in August at the 8am Spanish masses All Fridays in August at the 8am English masses All Saturdays in August at the 8am Bilingual mass.. This mass may also have children from both
languages. The children will receive the HOST only "No Cup" due to the circumstances, we will probably not have the cup for a long time. No Parents or Godparents will be allowed in the church. All families will be outside in the plaza. The Masses will be live-streamed to a TV screen for the families hopefully to see in the courtyard. Parents would have access to the video on YouTube. The second option is: Wait until the church gets to reopen again and have a larger group receive 1st communion as a group with family present in the church as pandemic restrictions allow.
