FOREST SCHOOL THIS WEEK
We’ve started something different with Year 3. They’re nominating leaders and setting
up forest school by themselves (we’re there for safety). The leaders have to check the
kit, make sure everyone and everything gets to site safely, organise the fire lighting,
direct the cooking and lead the game. Our first set of leaders did a great job and found out how hard it is to manage a large group
of people. Year 2 made woodland creatures out of wood and went tracking up and down
hill and vale with Barrie.
Did you know? The actual statue of Lord Nelson is 18 ft tall.

Reception had a great day out at Washbrooks Farm – they’ve
decided they’d like goats and rabbits as school pets now. Thank
you to everyone who helped on this trip.
BOLYMBOLYMBOLYMBOLYMPIC FAIRPIC FAIRPIC FAIRPIC FAIR 29 June after school. Lots of different stalls
run by each class, the School Council (they’re hoping to make money to reinvest next year) and FoBVPS. Look out for the Hot Dog Stall and Giant Jenga! Come and try some of the 10p and 20p stalls! We’re asking for donations of books, children’s books, toys and second
hand uniform for stalls. See you there!

We had a great turn out for our Dads’ Day Forest School event. Our Dads tell
us that they had a brilliant day finding out about Forest School and making some boy things to take home like mallets,
bows and arrows and BBQ tongs. Thank you for supporting this event; we’re
thinking of what we can do next. Ideas include family days and holiday camps.
HAZELS IN LONDON Year 2 went up to London on the train and then travelled on the Underground to Embankment. They had a snack in Trafalgar Square before going in to the National Portrait Gallery for a Landscape Tour culminating in Monet’s ‘Water Lillies.’ They raced down to Westminster past Number 10 Downing Street for Big Ben and London Eye gazing before skipping up to Buckingham Palace (via the bridge over the Serpentine) where they sang for the Queen. Then a dash for the train home. Sorry we were late back but so much to see and do! An enormous thank you to everyone who came along to help on the trip. We can’t do it without you.

EMERGENCY SERVICES TRAINING DAYEMERGENCY SERVICES TRAINING DAYEMERGENCY SERVICES TRAINING DAYEMERGENCY SERVICES TRAINING DAY –––– Next Next Next Next Tuesday 26 JuneTuesday 26 JuneTuesday 26 JuneTuesday 26 June Please don’t be alarmed when you see a whole fleet of emergency vehicles near your home. From 3.30pm until 9pm a number of fire engines and other emergency vehicles will be using the phase 4 construction road for emergency training and will set up a mock up of a major accident. Vehicles will be entering via Bolnore and exiting via Bolnore Road. If any one wishes to come along and view from a distance we’ve been told that this should be possible (probably best from the Parkfield Way end of the bridleway).
