Las Vocales

There are only 5 vowel sounds in Spanish. /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/

No matter where these sounds are in the word they will always sound the same. C A S A, E S C U E L A, C A F E, H O G A R

Las consonantes Most consonants sound the same as in

English. There are some differences:

H is soundless.

Ñ sounds like /ny/ a short /n/ followed by /y/

LL sounds like /dz/ : Llama, LLave
