Teacher Sign Up

Visit Edmodo.com

Select “I’m a Teacher”

Complete the registration form

Select “sign up”

A confirmation email will be sent

Click on the link in the email to activate the account

Student Sign Up

Provide students with the 6-digit group code

Visit Edmodo.com

Select “I’m a Student”

Complete the registration form

Select “Sign Up”

An email is not required to sign up

Account Settings

Click on “Account” then “Settings”

Manage Profile Information

Parent Accounts

Click on a group.

Click on “Manage” under the Members section.

Download the “Parent Code Spreadsheet” (Excel)

Each parent has a unique code

Groups

Click on “Create”

Name the group

Select a grade level

Select a subject area

Click on “Create”

Each new group has a unique 6-digit code

In the members section, click on “Manage”

Click on the co-teacher’s name.

Co-Teachers have the same functionality as owner with some limitations Cannot archive or delete groups Cannot add another co-teacher Cannot delete the original creator

Public Spaces

By default all Edmodo content is private

Only group members can read posts

The group owner can mark posts as “public” on a case-by-case basis

Select “Public” from the dropdown menu

Click on “Public” again to remove the public status

Select “Library” from the Navigation Bar

Calendar

Share events and track assignments

Select the “Calendar” from the Navigation Bar

Click on the date of the event

Name the event

Choose the group(s) to see the event

Click “Create”

To delete an event, click on the event and then “delete”

Post Assignments

Click on “Assignments” in the Navigation Bar

Name the assignment

Provide a detailed description of the assignment

Provide a due date

Add any attachments (files, links, or Library content)

Choose the groups(s) to send to

Click on “Send”

Turning In

Click on “Assignments” in the Navigation Bar

Select “Turn In” next to the due date

Attach homework and include a message

Click on “Turn In Assignment”

Grading Assignments

You will be notified when an assignment is turned in The number on the “Turned In” increases A notification is added

Click “Turned In Assignments” to review

Choose the student’s name

Review, grade, and comment on assignments

Gradebook

Click on “Grades” in the Navigation Bar

Select group from the dropdown menu that you would like to access

Posted assignments are automatically added

Grades are automatically added

Add or edit grades with in the Gradebook

Review assignments

Export the Gradebook as an Excel spreadsheet by clicking on Export (CSV)

Extras

Create and award badges to recognize achievement

Connect with other teachers through Communities and Connections

Add other educator’s content to your Library

Mobile apps for Android and iOS
