Now after 15 years it’s finally time for us to return but-

• To a country I’ve forgotten so much about?

• To the people I barely remember?

Plane Ride

A grueling 20 hour-plane ride with an hour layover

Seattle, USA Seoul, S. Korea Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

Arrival

• We were greeted by 15 people

• We were all very touched to see everyone

Home

• A blast from the past

• What little I remember from the city has changed completely

• Coming back to a home I didn’t recognize

Countryside

• We took a train to the countryside to visit my grandmother

• Chance to see parts of the country I’d never known before

Huế

• Capital of the ThừaThiên province

• Laid in central of Vietnam between the capital Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

• Home to many historical and architectural monuments

Tribute to the Past

• We visited our family’s graves, including my grandfather’s

• Toured old palaces and ancient temples

• Took a boat ride across the Perfume River

Farewell Party

• Our family threw a party to say farewell to our relatives

• We wished everyone well and promised to keep in contact

Second Goodbye

• We said goodbye to those that came to see us off

• Many tears were shed but we promised to come back again soon
