Charlie will explore issues relating toveggie growth, insects and diseases, and varietyselection, with suggestions for resilient vegetablegardening.

Jessica Gutknecht, Assistant Professor, UMN Department of Soil, Water, and ClimateFood systems are facing many challenges includ-ing a need to better enhance ecosystem servicesand to cope with increasingly altered weather pat-terns and changing climatic conditions. This talk willprovide an overview of climate change impacts onagricultural systems and pose potential options foradaptation that also lead to improved environmen-tal quality in general.
