Congratulations! If you're reading this right now, then you've clearly made the
best decision of your life in 2015 by subscribing to "Your Morning Juice," ourbrand new morning newsletter. (Okay, maybe not the BEST decision of 2015.
That's a little much , but it's definitely one of the smarter decisions you've made
thus far.) So, what can you expect when you see "Your Morning Juice" pop up in
your inbox? Great question! Every Tuesday and Thursday we'll share the latest
news around town that has all of Des Moines buzzing. From the latest restaurant
openings and downtown developments to drink suggestions for the next happy
hour to great stories from around the metro, and so much more. If you like what
you're reading, share it with a friend.
"I DIDN'T GROW UP THINKING I'D BEHOMELESS. IT JUST HAPPENS."
What happens when a pair of Drake University students passes out a
dozen disposable cameras at a local homeless shelter and asks the
residents to go outside and shoot whatever they wanted? This. The
participants captured the grittier parts of Des Moines that you wouldn't
necessarily see in a tourism brochure.

WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE
As we say goodbye to 2015, be sure not to overbook yourself on events
because there's a lot happening around town. There's a little bit of
something for everyone. Music fans can check out Little BIG Fest (Dec. 5),
those of you with a sweet tooth can get complimentary samplings of holiday
cupcakes at Creme Cupcake TODAY from 4:307 p.m. and the Winter
Farmers' Market is back a little later this month (Dec. 1819) for you last
minute gift shoppers.
Check it: 10 things we love about Des Moines in December.
SO YOU FANCY, HUH?
Now this is how you create a downtown loft feeling in the suburbs. Waukee,
to be exact. You know, if you have a million dollars to spare. Porcelain tiles
imported from Italy + backlit floating mirrors and underlit cabinets in the
bathrooms + three outdoor spaces = #Goals.

I'm kinda buzzed and it's all because...
• There are these 5 ahhmazing drinks at Guru BBQ bar that you need
to try.
• Do you plan on going to Little BIG Fest? Here are 13 songs to get
your ears ready for the festivities.
• What's it like to cover Iowa's samesex marriage ruling while planning
your own samesex wedding? Find out at the Des
Moines Storytellers Project tomorrow. The event is at 5 p.m. Dec. 2
in The Basement at the Des Moines Social Club. Tickets are $10 and
can be purchased here.
