Born to compete. Even with ourselves.

The form varies. But the racing bloodlines, the undying dedication to pure sports car performance, the marriage of power and efficiency embodied in the Porsche principles, do not. And that truth is revealed in that moment you turn the key. Discover it for yourself with a test drive. Porsche. There is no substitute.

Experience every form of Porsche performance.

SPRING 2015 n 3

The Porsche Club activity season is in full swing! For those of you still at-tached by your fannies to the sofa, you have already missed a delicious open-ing social at Fratelli’s Italian restaurant in Sandy, a fascinating cars and coffee where you might have seen the hand-built cars of Kirkham Motorsports and marveled at their custom CAD technol-ogy. If you had not been bingeing on “Breaking Bad,” you might have been among the many who enjoyed the St. Paddy’s Day tour or the recent Golden Spike tour up to Promon-tory Point to soak up some rail-road history. Three rounds of auto-crossing are already in the books while you have been catching up on “Game of Thrones.”

On April 18, the second “Cars and Coffee” took place at Porsche Salt Lake City—aka Strong’s—and almost a hundred club members were treated to a presentation by Porsche mechanics Larry and Randy on the latest technological wonders and innovations from Stutt-gart with a 918 Spyder on hand as an example of the state of the art. RaceCo was on hand along with our own Jeff Bogaard to entice you to bring your Porsche out onto the race track and enhance your abilities and experience through our Driver Education program (another perk of being a PCA member) in a safe and fun manner.

And then there were the waffles. Belgian waffles, waffles and gravy, lingonberry and lemon waffles. Waffles extraordinaire, all provided by Saturday’s Waffle and compliments of

55th anniversary here in the Inter-mountain Region, and this Amazing Rally promises to be the best one yet! This is a fun, non-competitive (OK, sort-of competitive) event to share with your significant other on a drive for a couple of hours, with puzzles and quizzes along the route. It is followed by a social and

dinner, hosted by our friends at Ken Garff Porsche at their new showroom in Lehi. If you put only one PCA event on your calendar this year, this is it! You can register now at www.msreg.com/ar6.

There are even more events to come! The summer social will be at the Cottonwood Country Club on July 18; then there will be more tours and autocrossing in June, July and August. DE’s and club racing and Cars and Coffee and autocrosses and socials—oh my!

And all you have to do is put down the remote and come out and enjoy.

the good folks at Porsche of Salt Lake. Mmmmm.

All of these events are posted on our Web site, and our Vice president Rich Sanders has been vigilant in sending e-mails out with upcoming happenings. If you are not receiving these updates, please visit the PCA National Web site at www.pca.org to make sure your e-mail address is current.

The first of our season’s Driver Education events on May 2 will have

passed by the time you read this, but the year is young and there will be two more opportunities. Another Driver Education event will take place on June 6 (see page 12), and the final on September 18-20 in conjunction with our annual Club Race.

You still have time to make it for the June 21 autocross at Davis County Fairgrounds (free to PCA members who are first-time autocrossers!), or the June 27 driving tour to Mirror Lake. Or last, but hardly least, is the sixth an-nual Amazing Rally on Saturday, May 30 (page 7). We are celebrating our

ground until fairly late in that season, IRPCA’s event calendar wasted no time getting started this year! This is reflected in the many event “wrap-ups” you can already read about in this issue. Check out page 8 for coverage of the first two autocrosses (and we just had our third as this issue was going to press), and page 16 for photo coverage of our first driver education event (the second is just around the corner). I’d like to

give a shout-out here to the able Raleigh Fehr, who has been capturing some superb shots at our autocross and DE events lately!

We also have coverage of a raft of recent events, includ-ing the season’s first social, a couple of tours and “Cars and Coffee” events, and—from the Better-Late-Than-Never De-partment, last winter’s Holiday

Social. Check it all out on page 10. And please keep those photos coming in!

Finally, back in January, Les Long and the Air Power Racing crew invited IRPCA members to an open house at their shop to watch the start of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Food and drink were graciously provided, and a number of the team and customer cars were on display. Air Power’s Sarah Roth sent along a few photos of the event for your viewing pleasure on page 19.

Look for your next issue of Zeitung in mid-to-late summer. In the mean-time, there’s plenty to do—check out the full-year calendar on page 6!

As this issue of Zeitung was going through preproduction, I received some news that came as a bit of a shock: The Miller company an-nounced that it will not be renewing the lease this fall on our beloved track, Miller Motorsports Park—allowing the land (and the improvements built on it) to revert back to the City and County of Tooele. This season’s events (including IRPCA’s Driver Education and Club Race events) will proceed as scheduled, but as of October, Miller will have left the building.

While it’s far too premature to pro-nounce the track dead, it sure-ly faces an uncertain future. Larry Miller had the means to build a world-class racing facility as a personal project, presumably without (too much) regard as to whether the track could survive as an ongoing business concern. And now it seems apparent that it could not: I can only guess that such a world-class facility comes with world-class opera-tional and maintenance costs.

On the other hand, with Tooele City/County left holding the keys, it could theoretically take a shot at keeping the track operational. At least prop-erty taxes and leasing costs would be removed from the equation, although admittedly I have no idea how sig-nificant these expenses would have been, and whether it would make any difference. But the notion of a municipally-owned race track would not be unprecedented; Pueblo Motor-sports Park in Colorado, for example, is owned (and, until recently, directly managed) by that city.

It’s hard to imagine another viable ownership scenario, actually. The Miller company has reportedly ex-plored and attempted various business models in its efforts to keep the enter-prise afloat, and I have no reason to believe that the company hasn’t done the best that they can—or perhaps that anyone could possibly do—to make it work. So the possibility of an acquisi-tion by a third party seems slim, unless someone knows something that Miller doesn’t.

Of course one must consider that the announcement could be a hard-

nosed negotiation tactic to secure a more favorable lease and/or tax deal with the city/county, but if that’s true, it does seem that this particular tactic would be the “nuclear option” of di-plomacy. So this seems unlikely also.

In any case, along with many of you, I hope that this isn’t the end for our friendly neighborhood race track. While it’s far from clear how the scenario will play out, the facility is too valuable to let languish. Still, you’ll certainly want to sign up for IRPCA’s Driver Education events on June 6 and September 18-20, just in case!

contributeEver wanted to see your name in print?

Zeitung needs your articles and photos! Become a part of the team by contribut-ing your stories, photos and ideas, and make Zeitung your magazine!

Subject matter for contributions can be just about anything—a technical how-to, a story about last summer’s road trip,

an interview, a breathless ode to your new (or old) Porsche, or anything else at least tangentially Porsche-related.

Not a writer? Not to worry! If you have an idea for an article, we can help put it into words, assist with development, pro-vide photographic support if appropriate, and make it all look great in print.

RallySaturdayMay 30

If you’ve attended a prior Amazing Rally, you know it’s the biggest combined IRPCA tour and social event of the year! And this year’s rally may just be the best one yet.

Lock in your calendar now for the whole day. Or if you just can’t com-mit to that much fun, sign up for just the drive, or for the social only. All this will be provided for a shockingly nomi-nal charge, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Ken Garff Porsche.

Gigi Camarena, Rules & Safety Chair

Originally from California—raised in Los Angeles and then a resident of San Luis Obispo (and a three-time graduate of Cuesta College)—Gigi moved to Utah in 2008. Her life pri-marily revolved around horse racing and the horse industry. Today, she works in the petroleum industry as a environmental field technician, and is currently studying environmental geo-science at Weber State. Her passions are animals, sports, travel and art.

My passion for Porsches originated with my mom being a native of Mu-nich, Germany. We used to go every year to visit family. My cousin Renate had a boyfriend who always had a dif-ferent Porsche every time we came to visit. The best part was that he drove us home to Oma’s in them. I always got the back seat as he drove on the

introductionsautobahn, which was always thrilling.

Later, when I visited my cousin in the U.S., I spied her husband’s 1998 993 Carrera Cabriolet in the garage. When he asked, “You wanna take it for a spin?,” I said, “Hell, yeah!” Need-less to say, I fell in love with driving it.

When Porsche introduced the Box-ster, it was something new, different and sporty. It caught my eye. I ad-mired the earlier 2000-01 models. One day in 2007, while I was at a stop light behind a white one, I told my friend who was sitting in my car: “I want one. I don’t know how, or when, but I am going to get one.” As luck would have it,

and opportunity divinely presented itself, I purchased my first Porsche—a 2001 Boxster that I named “Max”—in November of 2013. I traded in a Honda for a Porsche in good condition with only 42,000 miles on it. My drive home from the dealership was a tearful one. In shock, with a feeling of peace and overwhelmed with happiness, I just realized: I finally got my Porsche.

Gigi is a bit camera-shy, but she did submit this photo of “Max”!

autocross 1 n 29 march n northwest research

The IRPCA Autocross program got off to a great, but cool, start on March 29 at Northwest Research Park in West Valley City. Eleven drivers braved the north wind to see how well they could maneuver the course laid out by the AX crew. Thankfully, the day warmed by lunchtime.

This was the first autocross for which we were able to use our new timing system! The older unit, pur-chased in 2001, was beginning to show signs of wear and tear. When attempting to acquire new decals for the function pad, we were told that the company no longer stocks parts for our model. However, they offered us a trade-in toward a new, upgraded unit. So the board of directors ap-

proved the purchase, and we were able to get that in time for the first AX. All the rest of the “old” components hooked up to the new unit, saving the club quite a bit of money over a total replacement.

Thanks goes out to our sponsor, Ken Garff Porsche of Orem, for this event!

Our second event took place at the Utah State Fairpark on April 12th. Even though the weather leading up to that Sunday had been beautiful, a dry cold front came in to the Salt Lake valley the previous evening, making for a chilly day. During the course setup, there were so many seagulls on the parking lot surface, someone sug-gested bribing them to stay in place to

use as course markers! We had a great turnout this time—

eighteen drivers pushing their tires to the limits of adhesion in pursuit of the quickest time. Along with the Porsches, we had a Honda Accord, a Subaru STi, a Saab 9-3 Turbo and a Volkswagen R32. Variety is the spice of life!

Porsche Salt Lake City was our sponsor for the April event.

To check times for all our events, please go to our Web site, www.irpca.org, and click on the Autocross link on the left side of the page.

We’re just getting started, so come out and compete! It’s a lot of fun, and good for you and your car! Richard Aupperle, AX Co-Chair

Using the word social as a noun de-scribes an informal social gathering, especially one organized by the mem-bers of a particular club or group: party · gathering · function · get-to-gether · soirée · celebration. No matter which word you choose to describe an IRPCA social, the outcome is typi-cally a great time, with great friends sharing stories about great cars.

The last two social events have been reflective of that. Our holiday party held in December at Willow Creek Country Club had a near-record attendance of 89 members. The eve-ning was festive, with music provided by Hot Club of Zion, a wonderful buffet including a chef-served risotto station, with a decadent dessert buffet with a multitude of choices wrapping up the evening. I may mention that Loretta and I had a great time creating the dessert buffet!

Our opening social, held at the end of February at Fratelli Ristorante, brought members out on a blustery

end-of-winter day. While not many Porsche cars braved the weather, their drivers did! Each enjoyed a home-cooked Italian meal and great conversation with stories and future plans of Porsche driving days ahead.

If you have never attended a social event, or if you haven’t attended one recently, I invite you to join us! Our next event is on Saturday, May 30 fol-lowing the Amazing Rally (see page 7). Next up is the Summer Social on Saturday, July 18 at Cottonwood Coun-try Club in Holladay. This newly rebuilt venue will be a perfect spot to gather for a summer evening. Start looking through your closet—you’re going to want your Tommy Bahama beach shirt and flip flops for this one! You may also hear a song or two about a “Little Deuce Coupe” or “She’s Real Fine (My 409).”

Until I see you at our next soirée... Cheers!Shari TroesterSocial Co-Chair

Fun—that is the word that first comes to mind when I think of WinterX out at Miller Motors-

ports Park: When you feel you need to go zip around the track and don’t want to wait until spring.

Unpredictable is the second word that comes to mind. Those are the conditions to expect, which makes you a better driver everywhere. It could be icy and snowy in the morn-ing, and by the afternoon it’s only slightly wet in areas and dry in others.

Lucky is the third word that de-scribes how I feel. We are so fortunate to live so close to a track, and the fact that they open up the track and allow us to slip and slide around in a safe environment all winter is fabulous. Isn’t it the safest way to experience sliding around on snow, slush and ice? If you spin out or get stuck, you have the support staff to help you out—as opposed to being in the middle of nowhere on I-80. Then if you do fishtail on the freeway, you know how to react without overcor-recting.

Since I started participat-

Diane JohnstoneEditor’s note: The author wrote this article prior to the

Miller company’s announcement that it is not renewing the lease on Miller Motorsports Park this fall. We hope that track operation will continue in some form, and that unique events such as WinterX will continue to be part of it. But if not, here’s what you missed out on!

ing in WinterX out at Miller, I have only missed one event in the past three seasons. That should tell you how much I enjoy the events. After attending IRPCA autocross events in the summer of 2011, I learned about WinterX events through Brandon Bowen and Rob Cottle. For the very first event, I had to drive through a snow storm over Parley’s Summit from Park City. When I hit the Val-ley, it was a little wet, and I was very disappointed that the track might be the same. By the time I got to Tooele, the road was dry, and I was bummed. Then I turned into the parking lot at

Miller, and it was a sheet of ice. I had a huge grin on my face and was looking forward to getting out on the track.

I had only been out on the track twice before, for Parade laps at the club races. I was eagerly awaiting in-struction from an experienced driver. I just assumed that it would be a similar format to the IRPCA autocross events, in which an instructor would ride with you and would need to give approval before you could drive solo. Well, much to my surprise, we just went out for the parade lap to see the layout of the course, and then away we went in our appropriate groups.

No instructor for me. No tech inspection of my ve-hicle. I guess they figure if you are crazy enough to want to go out on the track during winter, you will make sure your car is track-worthy! I just got to go out there and drive as fast as I wanted, without any advice. Obviously, I love my car and was not going to slam it into the wall, but I was not expecting pretty much a free-for-all. I had so much fun! Everyone was really

nice and helpful, except one driver who seemed to be very irritated that I beat him in the December event. We were swapping positions throughout the season, and I was very happy that I came in second for the season and he ended up third.

By my second WinterX season, I had two Driver Education days under my belt, so I had been around the track a few times with an instructor giving me advice. We were lucky enough to have snow covering the track for the January and Febru-ary events. January was deep, but pretty light—still the “Greatest Snow on Earth” so if you spun out, you could get back on the track yourself. Spinning was a fun, joyful event which was an explosion of snow everywhere. Febru-ary was a different animal altogether: The snow had settled and become very heavy—“Sierra Cement” comes to mind. I think I was the only Porsche that ventured out on the track for that event. Clear-ance was the issue; if you ended up off the track at all, the tow truck was your new best friend. You could spin—just keep it on the track and you’d be OK. I was fortunate enough not

to need my “best friend,” but saw many others who did.

Near the end of the season, we had the most challenging condi-tions that I have experienced in the three years that I had been attend-ing. I realize that I haven’t partici-pated in that many events, but I did grow up driving in

snow and have driven in my fair share of blizzards. (Of course, usually you aren’t being timed on how fast you can get from point A to point B during a blizzard!) January’s track was snow-covered in the morning, and by the af-ternoon it was flooded, slushy, snowy and then icy by the last sessions. If you got off line even by an inch or so, the snow/slush would suck you over

farther. Hydroplaning was definitely a risk that some experienced. Luckily, no Porsches were harmed during this event.

WinterX is an all-day event that many take very seriously, but there are also the “just happy to be out on the track” participants, too. Normally, I just take the Children’s Motrin and floor mats out of the car, and then I am ready to go. Other participants have stripped-down cars with lots of extra horsepower and wear fire suits (I’ve only seen one person do this). I think I am becoming more seri-ous about WinterX because I usually just turn up the stereo so I don’t hear the tires screeching. But last month I actually brought my summer tires to put on so I wouldn’t chew up my winter tires. Any type of car is welcome, and in January there was even a Ford Explorer that participat-ed. WinterX attracts drivers from all walks of life and is enjoyed by everyone who tries it.

You probably won’t see a grid like this at a Driver Education event!

Key Information

This article contains key informa-tion—literally.

We will try to give you as much “key” information as possible in this article, as there’s a lot of misinforma-tion regarding this topic.

Most of our cars came with two keys from the factory. Many times, if the car is sold, the second key doesn’t transfer ownership, or the original owner may have lost or misplaced a key throughout the years, so the car is left with just one key. I see this a lot when I perform pre-purchase inspec-tions.

It is good to note that, for all but the most recent Porsche generations, the keyless entry (re-

mote) was optional equipment. Many Porsches did not come standard with remote-controlled locks, so there are plenty out there with a good old-fash-ioned manual entry.

I ordered my 1998 Boxster with key-less entry, and my car came with one key with remote and one manual key. Nowadays, keyless entry-equipped cars come with two keys with remote.

A Porsche key is made up of mul-tiple parts:

•blade—the mechanical portion of the key that actuates the tumblers in the lock

• immobilizer pill—a passive RF unique identifier, which allows the car to start

•remote control—a radio transmit-ter to set or open the locks, (de)activate the alarm and perform other functions

•battery—powers the remote-con-trol operations

•O-ring—helps keep the key water-resistant

• fob—contains all the parts

shop talk Pedro Bonilla, Gold Coast Region

986-generation keys: remote and non-remote. Key blade operates mechanical tumblers.

Page 23: Amazing Rally 6 is coming! Miller Motorsports Park WinterX

SPRING 2015 n 21

The blade is laser-etched and unique to each car. It only operates the mechanical tumblers in the door and steering locks. If lost or damaged, the factory can supply a replacement, as each car’s key information is stored in their archives. Visit your local dealer for this service.

The immo pill is the security (anti-theft) feature in your car. It is a unique passive identifier, which reflects a string of numbers that must match what is programmed into the Central Locking Unit (CLU) memory. Without this pill, the car won’t even crank, even if the blade is the correct one for the car.

The remote control is a small radio transmitter, and like the immo pill, sends a string of numbers that have been pre-programmed into the CLU to actuate the door locks, front trunk lid, rear trunk lid, etc. The re-mote control uses a common, 3-volt button battery which needs to be replaced every few years. The battery model is 2032.

The fob keeps all the parts togeth-er in one easy-to-operate enclosure which also is water-resistant to pro-tect the electronics. It is not water-proof, and many have been damaged when sent through the laundry wash

cycle, having been left in a trouser pocket.

If you purchase a new key fob, it will contain a new immo pill and a new remote control with a new battery, but not the blade. If you want to have a complete second (or third, or fourth) key, keep in mind that you’ll also have to order a new laser-etched key blade. The cars have capacity to store up to four different remote/immo combina-tions.

But sometimes the remotes stop working. What can it be? Several things:

The most obvious is a dead bat-tery. The telltale sign is that the red LED won’t light up or will be very faint when one of the buttons is pressed. In this case, carefully pry open the fob and replace the battery—note, the (+) side goes towards the outside.

If the car has been parked for over six days, the remote’s receiver is

automatically deactivated. Open the door with the key, insert the key in the ignition and start the car. The remote is now active again.

You could have an “Outside Lock-in Range” situation. If the remote transmitter is operated more than 256 times without reaching the as-sociated receiver (e.g. the vehicle is out of range or its battery is dead or disconnected), the vehicle will not recognize the remote the next time it is activated. This can happen if the key button is pressed continuously, for example, in a pants pocket or purse. If the number of operations is less than 1024, it is possible to perform re-syn-chronization as follows:

1. Switch on the ignition with the key and valid transponder.

2. Switch off the ignition.3. Remove the key from the steering

lock.4. Operate the remote within

six seconds after the key has been remove. The lock-in range has now been reset to zero, as is the case with every recognized remote operation.

Finally, the remote itself may be damaged. When a door doesn’t open immediately upon depressing the but-ton, what do we do? We press harder! After multiple times, the delicate circuitry in the remote may break a circuit trace, or a component may just die.

Whenever you replace a remote or

Immobilization “pill.”

the car’s CLU using a Porsche-specific diagnostic tool (PST2 or PIWIS), which the Porsche dealers and some inde-pendent shops have. This way, the old key blade is just transferred over to the new key fob.

These are held in large parking lots (such as fairgrounds or the Maverik Center). They involve navigating a course laid out in the parking lot with traffic cones. Cars are run one at a time, or spaced well apart for safety. The events are timed, with each driver getting 5-6 runs. Speeds are generally low, with emphasis on get-ting through the tight course quickly. The design of the course is always done with safety in mind—generally, the biggest danger to you is hitting one of the cones, leaving your car unharmed, but your ego bruised. Helmets with Snell SA or M ratings of 2005 or newer are required, but loaners are available at the event. Participation in the autocross is open to anybody with a driver’s license.

Miller Motorsports Park also pro-vides an excellent opportunity to learn the potential of your car. The Porsche Club has several Driver Education events there each year. Events are run on the same track in Tooele that professional race series (American Le-Mans, Grand Am Racing, etc.) use. We use either half the track (providing a course about 2.5 miles long with 10-11 turns), or the full 4.5-mile course.

how we rollOur club is blessed by some of the

best facilities and terrain for the car enthusiast. The Intermountain Region Porsche Club of America organizes a variety of activities to help you enjoy your car.

Several Driving Tours are orga-nized each year. These give you a chance to meet with other owners and take a nice drive on our scenic roads. Some are day trips with a stop for lunch, while others are multi-day trips with overnight stops. Stops are made for cultural events and to pho-tograph our cars at scenic points. We seldom have “single point” restaurants or hotels you must stay in, although a “Tour Central” hotel and/or restaurant will be designated to provide a gather-ing place. There is no charge for tours, and you are welcome to join or leave a Tour in progress whenever you wish. These trips are a great excuse to get out and drive those scenic roads that we never seem to find time to enjoy.

If you want to explore the potential of your car, a driving tour isn’t the best place to do it. Fortunately, the Porsche Club offers a couple ways to do that safely. The Region holds Autocross events during the warmer months.

advertising rates per issue

The Driver Education events are a fun and legal way to explore the high-speed dynamics that make Porsches legendary. Although several cars will be on the track, the event is very safe, with passing only in designated areas (never in corners) and only with agreement between both drivers. Each driver will be given about two hours of track time each day. As with autocross, helmets are required, as are long pants, long-sleeved shirts and closed shoes. Loaner helmets are generally not available, so you will want to buy one or arrange to borrow one for the day.

If you don’t feel like driving, the club still has a lot to offer. The Region has a great Social calendar, with events planned almost every month. The so-cial schedule generally starts in Janu-ary, and typical events include “date nights” to restaurants, plays and other activities. The social events continue through the year, with summer, fall and holiday activities planned.

Plenty of opportunities exist to get involved, not only as a participant but as a volunteer. If you’d like to help out with event planning, contact any of the Regional leaders on page 2.

was very impressed with the organiza-tion and running of the autocross since this is only the second year that West Texas Region has been running autocrosses in a long time. All of us drivers got 12

practice runs and then four timed runs. Park Place Porsche was also there with five new models, giving demo rides to people. WTR is very fortunate to have their sponsorship and support. After the day was done, many of us gathered at the Fox & Hound for bench racing and food!

Still to come in May are Roadrun-ner Region’s Fiesta New Mexico and Intermountain Region’s Amazing Rally. I have my trips planned for both events, and I’m really looking forward to being busy in Zone 9, right up to the end of the month.

We’re already heading into the second half of 2015, so please try to attend Zone 9 Region events as often as possible!

early, some of us got together for a late-night snack at In-N-Out!

I was only able to see some of the practice sessions on Sunday because I had to head to the airport to fly home, but I did manage to get a little more shopping in at Vendor Row! All in all, I had a great time at the Festival of Speed, and I’d like to attend it again

next year. Big thanks to all of the PCA volunteers for putting on a fun event.

During the second weekend of May, I attended West Texas Region’s first autocross in a series of five autocrosses

nia Festival of Speed in Fontana, CA, and had a great time! I got there on Thursday afternoon, picked up lunch at In-N-Out, and then helped Zone 8 Rep-resentative Tom Brown set up sponsor banners and cones for the car displays on Friday. Auto Club Speedway is huge! The track itself has a low-banked D-shaped oval with an infield, and there are acres and acres of parking lots all over. The Festival of Speed consisted of PCA Club Racing, Time Trials, track tours, a food court, the Porsche Driving Experience, driving simulators, Vendor Row, Porsche concours, Porsche corral, Porsche swap meet, Euro club corrals, and supercar paddocks. It’s a good thing the event is three days long, because there’s so much to see and experience!

Friday’s drivers’ schedule consisted of practice sessions, and then on Sat-urday, there were qualifying sessions, sprint races and time trials. Before the end of the day, there was a 60-minute enduro race. Many of the volunteers and some of the drivers got together for a buffet dinner on Saturday night, and it was nice to talk about the day’s activities. And since the dinner was
