Portugal is one of the oldest countries in Europe.It became independent in 1143 and maintains its current borders since the XIII century. Lisbon, is situated on the right bank of the river Tejo, near where the river enters the Atlantic. It is a city of valleys and hills overlooking the river, and grew outwards from the hill on which the ancient castle was built.

Phoenicians, Greeks and Carthaginians founded colonies there, and the Romans consolidated its importance for shipping and fishing; the city became part of the imperial itinerary. Today about three million people live, study and work in the Lisbon region.

AlvitoAlvito village is located in southern of Portugal, in Alentejo, 38 km from the town of Beja, and 40 km from the city of Evora, in the driest and poor part of Portugal. It’s the seat of a municipality with 260.93 km² and 2,708 inhabitants, divided into two parishes Alvito and Vila Nova da Baronia.

Is formed by two schools:- EBI/JI of Alvito with students since kindergarten (3 years old), till 3.º level (16 years old) - EB1/JI of Vila Nova da Baronia (kindergarten and primary school).

School's Facilities The Alvito’s school started working on

September 2010.It didn't yet official inaugurated.It has pleasant and moderns installations for all the students, with green spaces and toys, on open spaces, for the youngest children.


StudentsThe EBI/JI Alvito's School is an institution with students from 3 to 16 years old (kindergarten, primary school, second and third degrees of Portuguese basic education).

I work on etwinning since May 2005. Me and my colleagues etwinners, won several European quality labels.At present time I coordinate two Comenius projects:Be healthy/ Feel Happy and Don't Worry be healthy.
