The new controller class

Mitsubishi Electric, worldmarket leader in compact PLCsystems, has done it again:Their new ALPHA rangedefines a completely newcontroller class – a class thatit is destined to dominate.ALPHA has the power it takesto handle tough tasks. Eachprogram can include up to64 functions or 1,500 bytes,and every function(timers, counters,

analog signal processing,calendar, clock etc.) can beused as often as needed inall programs. The ALPHAcontrollers also include manyother advanced, user-friendlyfeatures.

Analog signal processing

The ALPHA (24 V DC supply)can use up to eight inputs aseither digital or analog inputs

(0-10V, 8 bit resolution).Analog signal processingfunctions include a functionfor shifting the analog signal,integrated Schmitt trigger(on/off trigger) and simplecomparisons.

Powerful instruction set

The comprehensive ALPHAinstruction set has beendesigned specifically withyour day-to-day automationneeds in mind. It includessimple and complex Booleanexpressions, functions likeSet/Reset and remote control

switches, eighttimer functions(including impulsegenerator func-tion), up/down

Full-featured clock/calendarfunction

All ALPHA controllers havean integrated clock/calendarfunction (year 2000 compati-ble) with automatic daylightsavings time adjustment.Up to 350 on/off instructionscan be executed per programin combination with theclock/calendar. Data isretained for 20 days in theevent of power failures.
