NUESTRA MEJOR VENTANA AL EXTERIOR

El Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes “Almería en Corto” cumple ya su décimo aniversario y se con-solida como una de las citas más representativas en el ámbito internacional en este sector, con la partici-pación de más de 500 trabajos provenientes de todo el mundo, de los que 34 competirán por hacerse con alguno de los galardones que concede el festival. El certamen vuelve a ser la mejor plataforma para las nuevas promesas del cine nacional e internacional y punto de encuentro para profesionales del sector y aficionados, que encuentran en la cita almeriense el marco perfecto para intercambiar experiencias sobre el séptimo arte.

Desde la Diputación de Almería, conscientes de la importante tradición cinematográfica de la provincia, intentamos con este evento, contribuir a la difusión de Almería como “Tierra de Cine” y apostamos por el séptimo arte como vehículo fundamental para difun-dir por todo el mundo las excelencias de nuestros re-cursos y los espectaculares paisajes con los que con-tamos en nuestro territorio.

Este año el Festival vuelve a sus orígenes y hemos querido contar con la máxima implicación de los al-merienses, tanto en la organización como ejecución del certamen. Del mismo modo, desde la Diputación queremos agradecer el apoyo y colaboración de em-presas privadas, particulares e instituciones como el Ayuntamiento de Almería que, de forma altruista, se han implicado para hacer posible que esta décima edición sea una realidad. ‘Almeria en Corto’ ha contado además con el respaldo de la sociedad alme-riense sin cuya colaboración no habríamos cerrado una cita con la calidad y seriedad que siempre ha ca-racterizado el certamen.

Recogiendo este espíritu de trabajo, desde la Diputa-ción de Almería queremos que la provincia vuelva a ser escenario de los mejores rodajes nacionales e in-ternacionales, por lo que ya estamos estableciendo lazos de colaboración con entidades como la Andalu-cía Film Commission, potenciando nuestra tierra como el mejor plató cinematográfico con el que devol-ver la prosperidad en la provincia a una industria que nos ha proporcionado grandes satisfacciones en nuestra historia reciente.

Invito a todos los aficionados a sumergirse y dejarse llevar por la magia del cine con el X Festival Interna-cional de Cortometrajes ‘Almería en Corto’, del 5 al 9 de diciembre, en el Auditorio Municipal Maestro Padi-lla.

Our best windowto the outside

From the County Council of Almería and being aware of the major cinematic tradition of the province, we are trying with this event to contribute to the promotion of Almería as “Land of Cinema” and we believe in cinema as the primary vehicle to spread around the world the excellence of our resources and the spectacular scenery with which we count owe have in our territory.

This year the festival returns to its roots and we wanted to have the maximum involvement of Almeria s people in the organization and execution of the event. Similarly, from the County Council, we would like to thank the support and co-llaboration of private companies, individuals and institu-tions such as the Town Hall of Almeria,which in an altruistic way, has been involved in making this tenth edition real. ‘Almeria en Corto’ has also had the backing of Almería so-ciety, without whom we would not have finalized an agree-ment as to the quality and seriousness that has always characterized the event.

Reflecting that spirit of work, from the County Council of Almería, we want that the province returns to be the scene of the best national and international shoots, so we are establishing partnerships with organizations such as the Andalucia Film Commission - promoting our country as the best film setting to return prosperity in the province to an industry that has given us great satisfaction in our recent history.

I invite all fans to immerse themselves in it and be carried away by the magic of cinema with the 10th International Short Film Festival “Almería en Corto‘, from 5 to 9 Decem-ber, at the Municipal Auditorium Maestro Padilla.

The International Short Film Festival “Almería en Cor-to” will celebrate its tenth anniversary, becoming one of the most representative events in the international arena in this sector, with the participation of over 500 works from around the world, of which 34 compete to win some of the prizes awarded in the festival. The event is again the best platform for national and inter-national film industry hopes and it is a meeting point for professionals and amateurs who find in the event the perfect setting for Almería to share experiences on the seventh art.

Pocos festivales españoles han recibido de modo tan unánime el apoyo y el cariño de sus espectadores, desde la gente de la calle hasta las más diversas instituciones. Gracias a este respaldo moral, material y, con toda seguridad, presencial, estamos convencidos de que esta X Edición será una X de punto de referencia, sencillamente memorable.

Este año adoptamos una línea, creemos, adecuada para la actual situación: menos actividades, sí, pero muy cuidadas. La Sección Competitiva mantiene el nivel acostumbrado e integra en sus filas al mejor cortometraje almeriense, cada vez más consolidado. Premios y Homenajes conservan su fuste, así como las proyecciones informativas, programadas con especial mimo, en torno a los más pequeños y las personas con discapacidad, las imprescindibles presentaciones de libros, el Maratón, la efemérides del gran Cecilio Paniagua… y con una proyección modernizada alrededor de una nueva sede envidiable. Por todo ello, estamos seguros de que cada actividad del Festival será un acontecimiento cultural y festivo para Almería.

Few Spanish festivals have received such unanimous support and affection from their audience, from people on the street to the most diverse institutions. Thanks to this moral, material and of course viewer support, we are convinced that this 10th Edition will become a benchmark, simply memorable.

This year we took an approach we believe to be appro-priate for the current situation: less activities, yes, but well-chosen. The Competitive Section maintains the usual standard and integrates into its ranks the best, increasingly consolidated short films from Alme-ría. Awards and Tributes retain their standing, as well as including informative screenings, chosen with spe-cial care, about the youngest ones and people with disabilities, indispensable book presentations, Mara-thon, the commemoration of the great Cecilio Pania-gua…all with a modernized projection around an en-viable new venue. We are therefore sure that each activity of the Festival will be a cultural and festive event for Almería.

Madrid, 1953. Vive en Almería desde 1992. En 1974 se inicia en la fotografía profesional con retrato editorial y reportajes sobre danza, música y teatro para diferentes revistas de difusión nacional. Pasa a la moda y publicidad en 1986. Autor de una obra ecléctica, ha realizado numerosas exposiciones y publicaciones desde 1976, tiene obras en museos y colecciones privadas. Compagina la obra de autor con su trabajo profesional. Imparte talleres fotográficos. www.carlosdepaz.comMadrid, 1953. He has lived in Almería since 1992.In 1974 he began as a professional photographer in the portrait publishing area as well as for dance, music and theatre illustration photography for different magazines of national circulation. He then started to work in fashion and advertising in 1986. Author of an eclectic body of work, he has participated in a large number of exhibitions and publications since 1976, with works held in museums and private collections. Carlos de PazRealizador almeriense afincado en Granada, curtido en el cortometraje, trabajos para televisión, publici-dad, videoclip y videoarte. Su primer paso al largome-traje fue como montador y más tarde lo haría como guionista y realizador, especializado en el género do-cumental de creación. Desde el año 2001 entra a formar parte del equipo del Festival Internacional de Jóvenes Realizadores de Granada, llevando su dirección técnica durante 9 edi-ciones hasta asumir la dirección en su 18º Edición. La dirección de este festival la compagina con la di-rección del Festival Internacional de Cine Clásico de Granada, RETROBACK, festival pionero en el mundo del género clásico.También es profesor de realización y montaje en la Escuela Superior de Comunicación de Granada ESCO y en la escuela de formación profesional ESCAV.A producer from Almeria settled in Granada, harde-ned in the short film business as well as in television, advertising, video clip making and art video. His first step towards full-length feature film production was as a film editor. Later, he worked as a screenwriter and producer, specializing in the documentary crea-tion genre. Since 2001 he has been part of the staff for the Inter-national Young Filmmakers Festival of Granada wor-king as a technical manager for nine editions. He beca-me the manager for the 18th edition. He combines the management of this festival with the management of the International Classical Cinema Festival of Grana-da, RETROBACK, a pioneering festival in the world of classical films.He is also a production and film editing teacher in the Higher Education School of Communica-tions in Granada, ESCO, as well as in the professional training school ESCAV.

Emilio EgeaDespués de 16 años sigue mostrando sus habilidades en la industria del cine con su trabajo en el Festival de Cine de Berlín, como coordinadora de la sección ‘Panorama’ y como programadora de los cortometra-jes de la sección oficial. En 2010 fue nombrada coor-dinadora de Industria en el Festival de Cine de Sevilla (www.festivaldesevilla.com). Este año por primera vez, es responsable de la pro-gramación del Festival de Cine de Cuenca, un festival dedicado a películas realizadas por mujeres directo-ras (www.mujeresendireccion.es). Es originaria de Berlín aunque actualmente pasa lar-gos periodos en Almería, desarrollando un proyecto multimedia sobre Tahití a mediados del siglo XIX.Después de haber realizado cortos en los años 80, trabajado en produccion y participado en numerosos festivales, se dedica a la escritura.Margaret von Schiller keeps offering her long time skills in the film industry after 16 years of working for the Berlin Filmfestival as programme coordinator in the Panorama section and as the programmer for short films in the official programme. In 2010 she was appointed Industry Co-ordinator at the Sevilla Film Festival (www.festivaldesevilla.com). This year for the first time she is responsible for pro-gramming for the Cuenca Film Festival, a festival dedi-cated to films made by female directors (www.mujere-sendireccion.es).She is originally from Berlin, Germany and she pre-sently spends a lot of time in Almeria writing on a mul-timedia project about Tahiti in the mid 19th century. After making short films as writer/director in the 80ties, working on production and serving the film fes-tivas, she finally dedicates her time to writing.

Nace en Córdoba en 1979. Es licenciado en Biología por la Universidad de Córdoba. En 2004 Cursa estudios de Monta-je cinematográfico y postproducción digital en la Escuela Andaluza de Cinematografía de Sevilla.Realizador de varios cortometrajes, es coautor de publica-ciones como “Almería Audiovisual”, en sus ediciones de 2009 y 2010, “Almería, una historia de cine”, o “Expomat 2008; Cine y matemáticas”. Además colabora en la sección de crítica cinematográfica de la revista Andalocio.En 2008 forma parte del Comité de selección de la sección internacional del festival Almería en corto, y colabora como asesor documental en la elaboración del libro “Paisajes de cine” editado por la Diputación de Almería.En la actualidad, y desde 2007, dirige la Escuela de Cine de Tabernas. He was born in Cordoba in 1979 and holds a degree in Biology from the University of Cordoba. Periodista de Canal Sur TV. Anteriormente ha trabaja-do en Radio Juventud, Antena 3 Radio o la Cadena Ser. Licenciado en Ciencias de la Información y Máster en Comunicación en las Organizaciones por la Universi-dad Complutense de Madrid. Ha asistido a numerosos rodajes realizados en la provincia. En ellos ha entrevis-tado a realizadores como David Lean, Pilar Miró, Felipe Vega, Alex de la Iglesia, Richard Lester o Eddie Fowlie. En 2004 presentó la Gala del Festival “Almería en Cor-to” en la que la actriz Claudia Cardinale recibió el pre-mio “Almería, tierra de cine”.Canal Sur TV journalist. Previously, he worked for Ra-dio Juventud, Antena 3 radio station and Cadena Ser. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science and obtained a Master’s in Organizational Communi-cation at the Complutense University of Madrid. He attended numerous shootings conducted in the pro-vince of Almeria and interviewed producers like David Lean, Pilar Miró, Felipe Vega, Alex de la Iglesia, Richard Lester and Eddie Fowlie. In 2004 he presented the In-ternational short film festival “Almería en corto” where the actress Claudia Cardinale received the “Almeria, Land of cinema” award.

Manuel Carretero Yolanda Cruz

Nace en Almería en 1965, es Licenciada en Filología Hispá-nica y cuenta en su formación con la Diplomatura Cinemato-gráfica de la Universidad de Valladolid. Su andadura en los medios de comunicación comienza en 1981, ha trabajado en radio, prensa y televisión. Desde 2001 a 2005 pertene-ció a la Junta Directiva de la Asociación de la Prensa donde asumió las competencias de la vocalía de formación. Produ-jo y dirigió, desde 1999 a 2006, el programa televisivo Mira-das de Cine, de contenido cinematográfico para televisión local. Ha sido directora y guionista de varios trabajos cortometra-jes y videocreaciones. En 2008 organiza el Certamen Nacio-nal de Cortometrajes, Posivideo el cual dirige en sus tres primeras ediciones. Desde 2010 es responsable de Cine de la Fundación Inquietarte y directora del Festival Audiovisual y Mujer Visualízame y de las Jornadas de Literatura y Cine. Born in Almeria in 1965, Yolanda Cruz holds a Bachelor De-gree in Spanish Philology and a Diploma in Cinematography from the University of Valladolid. Her career in media began in 1981, when she worked in radio, press and television. From 2011 to 2005, she belonged to the Board of the Press Association where she took a position as a member of the training committee. She produced and directed, from 1999 to 2006, the TV program “Miradas de Cine” (Film Looks) with cinematographic content for local TV.She has been the director and scriptwriter of several short films and video-works. In 2008, she contributed the National Short Film Competition “Posivideo” which she directed in its first three editions. Since 2010, she has been responsible for the Film Foundation ,“Inquietarte”. She is the director of the Audiovisual and Women Festival “Visualízame” and the“Literature and Film Conference”.

Licenciado en Historia del Arte por la Universidad de Grana-da. Fotógrafo, pintor, ilustrador, ha ocupado diferentes car-gos de promoción cultural en la Diputación de Almería. Res-ponsable de diversas actividades ligadas al Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes, como la edición de las pu-blicaciones oficiales y el comisariado y diseño de exposicio-nes.Majored in Art History at University of Granada, Elias Palmero is a photographer, painter and illustrator who has worked in various positions for cultural promotion at the County Council of Almería. He is responsible for several activities related to the International Short Film Festival, as well as the edition of official publications and exhibition designs.

Fundador de Almeriacine (2001), espacio pionero en internet sobre el cine rodado en Almería (www.almeria-cine.es). Coautor de la guía ‘Paisajes de cine’ (2008), sobre los rodajes en Almería de ‘La muerte tenía un precio’ e ‘Indiana Jones y la última cruzada’ editada por la Diputación Provincial. Ha participado como po-nente y jurado en citas cinematográficas como el Ciclo de Cine Ferroviario de ASAFAL y el Festival ‘Almería en Corto’, respectivamente.Almeriacine founder (2001), a space pioneer in the in-ternet on films shot in Almería (www.almeriacine.es). Co-author of the guide ‘Landscapes of cine-ma’ (2008) on the shooting in Almeria of ‘A Few Dollars More’ and ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ publis-hed by the Provincial County Council. He has participa-ted as a speaker and jurer in such film events as the Railway Film Series of ASAFAL and the Festival ‘Alme-ría en Corto’, respectively.

Juan Enrique Pérez Miranda

Ejerce profesionalmente como fotógrafa desde 1988 en IDEAL Almería y como corresponsal gráfica en Andalucía para Diario 16 y El País. En Madrid trabaja como fotoperiodista en el El Mundo, reportajes para el Magazine, obteniendo los premios FUJI y FOTOGRANPRIX. Y en el suplemento Tentaciones de El País. Imparte el taller “El reportaje fotográfico de autor” en La Casa Encendida de Madrid. En el CAF y en el instituto Cervantes de Rabat. Paralelamente desarrolla proyectos como: “De compras”, “Ferias de barrio”, “Cocktail”, algunos presentes en PhotoEspaña, Encontros da Imagen, etc. De nuevo en Almería coordina la fotografía de la delegación de El Mundo durante tres años. En esta ciudad realiza su último proyecto “Un mundo feliz” que junto con la serie “Cocktail” se exponen en el festival internacional de fotografía FOTOENCUENTROS 2011. She has worked as a professional photographer since 1988 in IDEAL and as a graphic correspondent in Andalusia for the newspapers Diario 16 and El Pais. In Madrid, she works as a photojournalist for the newspaper “El Mundo”, illustrating features for the Magazine, winning FUJI and FOTOGRANPRIX prizes. She teaches the workshop “Author illustrated features” in the cultural centre “La Casa Encendida” in Madrid, in CAF (Andalusian Photography Center) and in the Cervantes Institute of Rabat. Alongside, she developed projects such as: “Shopping”, “ Neighbourhood Fairs,” “Cocktail”, some present in “PhotoEspaña”, “Encontros da Imagem”, and so on. Back in Almería, she coordinated photography in the local office of the newspaper “El Mundo” for three years. The city performs her latest project “A Happy World” (Un Mundo Feliz) together with the series “Cocktail” exhibited in the international photography festival ”FOTOENCUENTROS” 2011.

La provincia es nuestro territorio. Almería en cortito acerca el mundo de los cortometrajes a dos municipios de Almería: Tabernas y Vélez-Rubio. En esta décima edición este ciclo dirigido al público infantil estará com-puesto por una selección de Festival Internacional Animadrid (Pozuelo de Alarcón). Los niños podrán asistir a las proyecciones de unas obras de animación sorprendentes, divertidas y originales. Y además, tendrán la oportunidad de ver diferentes formas de narración audiovisual que les ofrecerán nue-vas miradas sobre la vida.

Un clásico de este festival es el ciclo que cada año dedicamos a las mira-das y a las reflexiones que sobre el mundo de la discapacidad se generan en la producción de cortometrajes. De esta manera, intentamos desa-rrollar medios para favorecer la integración y la normalización de la vida de las personas con discapacidad en la sociedad actual.La adolescencia y la discapacidad será el núcleo temático de las distin-tas obras que se han programado en esta décima edición. Un conjunto de películas que nos amplían la visión sobre los problemas, las dificulta-des, las decepciones, los anhelos, las esperanzas y las conquistas que conforman el vivir cotidiano de las personas con discapacidad.

A classic of this festival is the series dedicated every year to the looks and reflections on the world of disability which arise in the production of short films. In this way, we try to develop ways to promote integration and normalization of disabled people s lives in current society.Adolescence and disability will be the core theme of various works that have been scheduled in this tenth edition. El 8 de diciembre se cumplirán cien años del nacimiento de Cecilio Pania-gua. Nacido en Almería, su familia procedía de Terque, en donde realizó sus primeras fotografías. Con Una herencia en París (Miguel Pereyra, 1943) comenzó su carrera como director de fotografía de largometrajes de ficción. En la década de los cuarenta participó en un total de doce películas, todas fotografiadas en blanco y negro. En los cincuenta realizó algunas de sus más intere-santes aportaciones como director de fotografía. Trabajó con directores como Luis Lucia, José María Forqué, Luis García Berlanga, Juan de Ordu-ña o Antonio Román. Entre 1962 y 1972, trabajó en Almería para siete películas de distintos géneros cinematográficos. Desde 1973 hasta su muerte, compaginó su labor en la televisión y en el cine, trabajando para Fernando Fernán Gómez, Juan Guerrero Zamora o Antonio Mercero. Su última película fue Los restos del naufragio (Ricardo Franco, 1978).El Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes quiere rendir homenaje a este ilustre artista almeriense con la programación de dos títulos de su am-plia y espléndida obra.

December 8 marks one hundred years since the birth of Cecilio Pania-gua. Born in Almería, his family came from Terque, where he took his first photographs.With “A Legacy in Paris” (Miguel Pereyra, 1943), he began his career as a cinematographer on feature films. In the forties, he participated in a total of twelve movies, all filmed in black and white. In the fifties, he pro-duced some of his most interesting contributions as a cinematographer. He worked with directors such as Luis Lucia, José María Forqué, Luis Gar-cía Berlanga, Juan de Orduña and Antonio Román. Between 1962 and 1972,he worked in Almería on seven films of different cinematic genres. From 1973 until his death, he combined his work in television and film, working for Francisco Fernán Gómez, Juan Guerrero Zamora and Anto-nio Mercer. His last film was “The Remains from the Shipwreck” (Ricardo Franco, 1978).The International Short Film Festival pays tribute to this illustrious Alme-rian artist, screening two titles from his large and splendid body of work.

Hace cuarenta y cinco años que Enrique Cerezo empezó a trabajar en la industria cinematográfica. Fue en 1966 cuando dio sus primeros pasos como meritorio de cáma-ra en el rodaje de Un millón en la basura de José María Forqué. Poco años después, asumiría la labor de ayu-dante de cámara en Vente a Alemania, Pepe (1971) de Pedro Lazaga. Continuaría en este departamento en un gran número de producciones, algunas de ellas rodadas en nuestra tierra. Y en 1974 dirigió su primera y única película: el cortometraje documental La sonrisa del sol: Almería.

Desde entonces, su actividad se centró en la produc-ción audiovisual, sin olvidar el sector de la exhibición. Ha sido el productor de películas como El perro del horte-lano (1995) de Pilar Miró, La buena estrella (1997) de Ricardo Franco – con la que consiguió el Goya a la mejor película-, La hora de los valientes (1998) de Antonio Mer-cero, Juana la Loca (2001) de Vicente Aranda, Tiovivo c. 1950 (2004) de José Luis Garci o La carta esférica (2007) de Imanol Uribe. En nuestra provincia, ha pro-ducido La vuelta de El Coyote (1998) de Mario Camus, y cuya dirección artística realizó Gil Parrondo, el primer Premio ‘Almería, Tierra de Cine’, Un dólar por los muertos (1998) de Gene Quintano y La justicia de los forajidos (1999) de Bill Corcovan.

Desde 1998 es presidente de EGEDA (Entidad de Ges-tión de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales), de la que fue también miembro fundador. Ha creado la compañía Vídeo Mercury Films, con la que está recupe-rando una gran parte de nuestra historia cinematográ-fica. Ha iniciado la reconstrucción y restauración de un setenta por ciento de la producción española, para su posterior digitalización.

Cámara, guionista, director, productor, distribuidor, exhi-bidor y actor, Enrique Cerezo es, en definitiva, un hombre de cine.

ENRIQUE CEREZO‘ALMERIA, LAND OF CINEMA’ AWARD

Forty-five years ago Enrique Cerezo started to work in the film industry. In 1966 he participated for the first time as a cameraman in the shooting of Un millón en la basura (A million in the garbage) by José María Forqué. Some years later, he performed as an assistant cameraman in Vente a Alemania, Pepe (Come to Germany, Pepe) (1971) by Pedro Lazaga. He continued in this department pro-ducing various films, of which some were shot in Almeria. In 1974 he directed his first and only film: The short do-cumentary film: La sonrisa del sol: Almería (The smile of the sun: Almeria).

Ever since, he has focused his work on audiovisual pro-ductions, without forgetting the exhibition sector. He produced films such as El perro del hortelano (The dog in the Manger) (1995) by Pilar Miró, La buena estrella (The Lucky Star) (1997) by Ricardo Franco – with which he won the Goya award for best film-, La hora de los valientes (A Time for Defiance) (1998) by Antonio Mer-cero, Juana la Loca (Juana the Mad) (2001) by Vicente Aranda, Tiovivo c. 1950 (2004) by José Luis Garci and La carta esférica (The Nautical Chart) (2007) by Imanol Uribe. In the province of Almeria he produced La vuelta de El Coyote (The Return of El Coyote) (1998) one of Ma-rio Camus’ works, which artistic direction was carried out by Gil Parrondo, who got the first award ‘Almeria, Land of Cinema’, Un dólar por los muertos (Dollar for the dead) (1998) by Gene Quintano and La justicia de los forajidos (The Long Kill) (1999) by Bill Corcovan.

Since 1998 he has been the president of EGEDA (Audiovisual Producers’ Rights Management Associa-tion), of which he was a founding member. He created the company Video Mercury Films, with which he is re-covering a large part of the Spanish cinematic history. He has started the reconstruction and restoration of seventy percent of the Spanish production for subse-quent digitization.

Cameraman, scriptwriter, director, producer, distributor, exhibitor and actor; Enrique Cerezo is definitely a man of cinema.

La Escuela de Imagen y Sonido de Almería (EISO) es uno de los centros formativos más dinámicos del sector au-diovisual. Desde su creación en el 1994, ha combinado con gran acierto la formación teórica más actual con un gran número de actividades de carácter práctico, que la han convertido en referente para todos los amantes de las artes audiovisuales.

Así, de sus aulas han surgido iniciativas como el Festival de Cortometrajes “Cuéntalo en 90 segundos” que el próximo año celebrará su VI edición. Es promotora tam-bién del “Maratón EISO Radio”, la edición de la “Revista Candilejas”, la primera publicación del audiovisual anda-luz hecha en la provincia de Almería, o el “Festival EISO Music”, entre otras. Por otro lado, ha firmado un acuerdo con la Universidad de Almería para la creación de nuevos programas de for-mación, innovación y desarrollo tecnológico, y trabaja en la firma de otro convenio con la productora Vértice 360º, para que sus alumnos puedan hacer prácticas de em-presa en programas como El Hormiguero 2.0 y Otra Mo-vida.

En estos cerca de 20 años han pasado por sus aulas más de 1000 jóvenes que, en la actualidad, trabajan en diferentes televisiones de ámbito local y nacional. Todo ello ha sido posible gracias al empeño y al gran esfuerzo de todos los que han formado y forman parte de la Es-cuela de Imagen y Sonido de Almería, dirigida por Luís Serrano González.

The School of Image and Sound in Almería (Eiso) is one of the most dynamic training centers in the audiovisual sector. Since its inception in 1994, it has combined with great success the most current theoretical training with a large number of practical activities, which have made it become a benchmark for all lovers of visual arts.

Thus, from its classrooms initiatives have emerged such as the Short Film Festival “Tell it in 90seconds” which will celebrate its sixth edition next year. It also was the promoter for the “EisoRadio Marathon”, the publication of the “Journal Candijelas” the first publication of the An-dalusian audiovisuals made in the province of Almería, and the “Eiso Music Festival”, amongst others.

Additionally, it has signed an agreement with the Univer-sity of Almeria for the creation of new training programs, innovation and technological development, and it is working on signing another agreement with the produ-cer Vértice 360º, so that students can participate in internships with programs such as “El Hormiguero 2.0” and “Otra Movida”.In these nearly 20 years, over 1000 students have passed through its classrooms who now work in different television programs both locally and na-tionally. This has been possible thanks to the com-mitment and effort of all who have formed and beentrained by the School of Image and Sound of Almeria, led by Luís Serrano González.

Talento, rapidez, espontaneidad, imaginación, el Mara-tón 48x3 aúna formación y creación. Los equipos alme-rienses participantes se adentran en la aventura de con-vertir un proyecto en un cortometraje durante un breve período de tiempo. La chispa, la fantasía y la presteza se tendrán que compaginar con el control, el sosiego y la reflexión para poder lograr una película que se exhibirá en el Auditorio Maestro Padilla.

En esta dinámica empresa se contará con el asesora-miento y la tutoría del almeriense Nicolás Fernández, quien estará presente en las tres fases de este concur-so: el guión, la grabación y la edición.

Y este año, por primera vez, el premio se entregará en la gala de clausura junto con el resto de los premios.

Talent, speed, spontaneity, imagination, 48x3 Marathon combines training and creation. Almería s participant teams delve deep into the adventure of making a short film project in a short period of time. Sparkle, fantasy and readiness will have to square off with control, calm and reflection in order to achieve a film to be displayed in the Maestro Padilla Auditorium.

In this dynamic company, we will count on the advice and mentoring of Almerian-born Nicolas Fernandez, who will be present in all three phases of this competition: script-writing, filming and editing.

And this year, for the first time, the award will be presen-ted at the closing ceremony along with the rest of the prizes.

Imágenes y paisajes. La historia del cine de Almería está indisolublemente unida a sus paisajes, a su luminosidad y, cómo no, a su paisanaje.

Este primer concurso internacional de fotografía de loca-lizaciones en nuestra provincia pretende ser una cata-pulta para que los fotógrafos profesionales y aficionados muestren su capacidad imaginativa, inspirándose en los espacios de nuestra tierra que han servido como esce-narios de numerosas producciones cinematográficas.

Paisaje, cine y fotografía, la permanencia, el movimiento y el instante podrán constituir una simbiosis creativa en las fotografías que los concursantes presenten.

Pictures and landscapes. The film history of Almeria is inextricably linked to its landscapes, luminosity and of course, its peasantry.This first international photographic competition on film locations in our province aims to be a springboard for professional photographers and amateur photographers to show their imaginative skills, drawing on the areas of our land which have served as the setting for numerous film productions.

Un número redondo para este trabajo en el que se recupera y valora la historia cinematográfica de Almería, se analizan los acontecimientos presentes y se proponen diferentes iti-nerarios para conocer la provincia de una forma diferen-te, tras las huellas del cine.

Este volumen de más de 200 páginas se presenta con numerosas ilustraciones que hablan por sí solas de la importancia del fenómeno cinematográfico en Almería. También se guarda un espacio para los almerienses ‘anónimos’ que hicieron posible toda esta historia.

Esta guía, redactada por un grupo de expertos de con-trastada trayectoria, servirá al avezado cinéfilo para pro-fundizar en sus conocimientos y al aficionado novel para iniciarse en la apasionante aventura del cine en Almería, un asombroso acontecimiento que constituye uno de los capítulos más brillantes y amables de la historia más re-ciente de esta provincia.

The film world in the province of Almeria, takes the tenth number in the collection of Guides of Almeria, Territory, Culture and Art of the Institute of Almeria Studies. This work recovers and appreciates the cinematographic his-tory of Almeria, as well as analyzes current events and proposes different itineraries to get to know the province in an innovative way, following the tracks of cinema.

This volume, composed of over 200 pages, presents a large number of illustrations, which speak for themselves about the importance of the phenomenon of the film in-dustry in Almeria. There is also a space dedicated to the “anonymous” people of Almeria who made this history possible.
