AIMS Site Test CoordinatorResponsible for:

– Keeping Cindy Hurley apprised of any testing issues that arise

• Site Test Coordinator must establish and enforce test security procedures that comply with the Test Security Agreement and the State Board

of Education Rules

• All school personnel who will have access to the AIMS or Stanford 10 test materials must sign a Test Security Agreement

• Security agreements are to be filed for 6 years at the school site

• The Principal’s security agreement is brought to Cindy Hurley at time of material Check-In

Inventorying Test Materials

First Open Box 1 (White Box)

– Pearson School Packing List is on top

– Look at the total number of tests and answer documents listed for each content area, make sure it will cover your needs

– If you are short materials, email Cindy number you still need ….deadline is April 2, Noon

Inventorying Test Materials

Next Open All Brown Boxes

- Verify that quantities in boxes match the Pearson School Packing List

- Document discrepancies on packing list

- Tip: Only open cellophane wrapped materials as needed – once opened individual tests must be counted

- Maintain an accurate inventory of all materials and some type of check-in and check-out system

- Test books and answer documents are to be stored in a secure location at all times – not in classrooms overnight

and in the order prescribed on Slide 12

› NOTE: The order of Reading and Math may NOT be switched. Reading is to be done before Math…no exceptions.

AIMS Make-Up Testing› AIMS make-up testing may begin on April 19 through April 26

› A student does not need to make-up in any particular order like on the regular test dates

› If a student needs all day to finish a part of Reading, then the Math part can be given as a make-up at a later time.

› Ex. Princess takes almost all day for Part 1 of Reading. In this case she will take the Math as a make-up. She does not have to do Math Part 1 before she does Reading Part 2. It could be that Princess takes almost all day to do each Part of Reading, so that means that all 3 parts of Math will be done during the make-up window.

Don’t Forget!!› Once a student starts a Part, he must finish that Part within the

school day and can not ever go back to a Part that has been started.

› Ex. #1 Prince did not finish all of Reading Part 2, even though he had all day to do it. He may NOT come back during the make-up and finish Reading Part 2.

› Ex. #2 TinkerBell was working on Part 1 of Math, when she went to the nurse’s office because she was ill. She did not finish Part 1 of Math. She may NOT come back during the make-ups and finish Part 1; however, she may come back and do Part 2 and Part 3 Reading and Math.

Test Administration Schedule Times

All AIMS tests and Stanford 10 tests are untimed

› Be sure to have a back-up plan for where students will go who need more time to finish

› Testing protocol includes following ‘Test Administration Directions’ for stretch breaks and significant breaks – no exceptions

• Students who need additional time beyond the allotted testing time must be allowed to finish testing

• Students should be escorted to the room designated for extended time

• Students may not go to lunch, instead must have their lunch brought to the designated room

• Student should remain in the secure testing environment while eating and resume testing after they have eaten

DISRUPTIVE STUDENTS

• Whenever possible, the disruptive or misbehaving student should be moved to another location

•Students must be allowed to continue to test

•If a student is known to have cheated or appears to have cheated, investigate the details and then notify Cindy for further instructions

All other visual aids displayed in the testing room that could assist students while testing must be removed or covered completely.

Authorized Resources to be Available

– Dictionaries and thesauri must be available for the prompt section of the AIMS Writing tests

– These resources are not permitted during any other testing session

– Translation dictionaries must be available for ELLs and FEP year 1 and 2

Cell Phones

› Cell phones are not permitted, even during stretch breaks› Students must remove and be told to remove cell phones from their person› Back packs should be placed in front of room and not by student desk › It is against testing protocol to use a cell phone during testing and if breached, student test is subject to invalidation› Only Cindy per ADE can determine if a test will be invalidated

All students must be allowed to continue to test

Test Administrators who observe students using unacceptable resources are to remove the

unacceptable resources as soon as possible

After testing is completed, Cindy Hurley must be notified to

determine if an incident report needs to be submitted

During Testing• Students should be allowed to work at their own pace

• Do not allow students to use colored pencils, pens, markers, or highlighters on the answer documents or the Grade 3 test books

• Monitoring should consist of:– Supervising the room at all times during testing– Answering student questions that pertain to clarification of test

directions– Checking that students are progressing through test

As Students Finish Testing

• Students are to remain quiet until the end of the testing session

• Students may read or do class work silently while waiting for the scheduled test session to end

• Electronic devices may not be used during this time

End of Testing Session• Account for all test books and answer documents at the end of

each testing session

• Missing test books and answer documents must be accounted for prior to dismissing any students

• Double check that labels match student written name

• Double check that if there is a label on the front that there is no gridded name or SAIS on the back

Test Administrator should count number of test books and answer documents received.

When Test Administrator returns materials, Test Coordinator should verify that all materials have been returned.

Standard accommodations are available to:

– Students with certain injuries

– English Language Learners

– FEP Year 1 and Year 2 students

Recording Accommodations

› Test administrators must record the use of standard accommodations in section K of the AIMS demographic data grid on the student answer document (see next slide)

› Detailed directions for marking the use of standard accommodations is on pages 61- 62 of the Test Administration Directions

Transferring Student Responses

› Students who tested using a Braille or large print version of the test must have their responses transferred to a standard answer document by an adult

› Students who used any assistive technology must have their responses transferred to a standard answer by an adult

› Note on each colored piece of paper, how many documents are within each grade

› Non-used answer documents are not being scored but must be returned along with the used answer document but keep in a separate stack (includes 2nd Gr. Stanford 10 and 3rd Gr. Consumable booklets)

› Count the non-used answer documents and note how many are in the stack

Organizing Stanford 10

• Stanford 10 test materials must be assembled and boxed separately from AIMS

• Stanford 10 consumable booklets are returned as answer documents

• You will have a stack of used Stanford 10 answer documents and a stack of unused answer document

• Be sure to separate and label the used from the unused…but they are returned as “answer documents”
