VisionTo build world-class centers of excellence that foster sought-after and industry-relevant leaders adaptable to changing socio-economic world order in a globalised environment

To create a conducive environment for the learning and practice of management through recruitment of right

faculty and students, providing them best learning environment to turn them into future leaders of tomorrow.

Mission

We set up Chiripal Charitable Trust as part of our Corporate Citizenship Initiatives under

the aegis of Chiripal Group of Industries. At the core of our hearts, we believe we must

endeavour to contribute to build a society where people live with harmony and peace,

where people live with their heads held high in all situations and where there is

freedom of choice and freedom of thought. We believe that we must give back to the

society in return of the abundance of resources that the society has given us.

In education, the Chiripal Charitable Trust wants to build and promote institutions that

strive to herald much needed changes. With this objective, we have established Shanti

Juniors, our national chain of pre-schools and Shanti Asiatic Schools.

As far as Management Education is concerned, our endeavour at Shanti Business

School is focused on three aspects:

One, we want to continue research on requirement of managerial and leadership

competencies. This research must be done with continuous dialogue with the industry

in structured methods.

Two, we want to research and develop teaching methodologies which are driven by the

sole objective of developing the right competencies in our students.

Three, we want to benchmark ourselves with the top global business schools and want

to set new parameters in creating proprietary systems and processes to develop and

deliver knowledge in the field of business and management.

I believe that you will find Shanti Educational Initiatives' Post Graduate experience a

deeply rewarding one to shape up your career, your values and faith in yourself.

Welcome To SBS

Shri. Vedprakash ChiripalChairman, Chiripal Charitable TrustChairman, Chiripal Group of Industries

Growth and development of people, society and nation are linked with empowerment

of the people which in turn is linked with leadership development. Thinkers and

philosophers of all times had realized this. Krishna mentoring Arjuna and Chanakya

mentoring Chandragupta are only examples of this axiom. Management education has

been evolved in the USA in the early part of the 20th century as an instrument to

develop leaders for business and industry; India adapted it gradually in the latter half

of the 20th century. With the proliferation of management education that happened in

India towards the millennium and later, many of the educators seem to have forgotten

this basic premise and the consequences in the Indian environment have not been very

pleasant. The b-schools that held on to the basic objective were the ones that withstood

the melt-down of the post-millennium successfully.

We at SBS, believe that management education can create a new class of leaders, with

Competence, character and integrity, with knowledge, wisdom and social

commitment. We emphasize on hands-on learning so that the graduates are

competent and comfortable in facing the challenges of the work-environment. We

have built the corporate reality into the design of elective choices; the academic

processes are designed to inculcate knowledge and skills required by the manager on

the field. We have a focused internship of 12 weeks, a series of field projects and a

grand project. These are designed to enhance the capability and competence of our

graduates so that they can take up the leadership challenges of tomorrow.

Through the last six batches, little more than seven hundred students have graduated

from our school and they have achieved good position in the corporate sector. We are

confident of achieving still better results in the coming years.

Key Differentiators

Rigorous Academics: At SBS academics forms the core of the program. This is rigorous in terms of content, structure and pedagogy. The faculty team is highly focused – two-thirds of them are doctorates in their areas and half of them have industry experience. The pedagogy consists of Lectures, Labs, Tutorials and Case-studies. There is a strong element of mentoring of students to prepare for executive career.

Industry Experts as Faculty: In some of the high-end elective courses SBS engages industry experts as faculty. Areas like Brand Management, Retail Management, Digital Marketing, Negotiation Skills, Business Analytics etc. are examples to this. This process facilitates the students with real-time exposure to the industry practices.

Industry-vetted-curriculum: SBS reviews its program structure and curriculum every year. The inputs to this process are feedback from faculty members, benchmarking with the best institutions in India and abroad, suggestions from industry experts etc. Through this process SBS ensures that the students are offered current and relevant curriculum that ensures knowledge and employability.

Industry Visits: SBS makes it a point to ensure that every student visits at least 6 industry/work places. Such visits are planned right through the program. In the first year the visits focus more on understanding the industry environment while during the second year the focus is more intensely on the work-practices, cultural aspects and the overall dynamics of the situation.

12 weeks Summer Internship:SBS has incorporated 12 weeks duration for the summer internship unlike the 8 weeks model adopted by most others. The Internship is jointly monitored by faculty and company guide to ensure definite learning in the process. This enhanced internship has been a significant game-changer in enhancing the placement prospects of the SBS student.

High-end electives are benchmarked with professional certification programs:High-end electives in Finance are Benchmarked with the professional programs offered by NSE Certification in Financial Markets [NCFM] like Securities Markets, Technical Analysis, Fundamental Analysis, Wealth Management etc. Some electives in Decision Sciences area are benchmarked with Project Management Professional, Total Quality Management, Six-Sigma etc. Students who opt for these electives are encouraged and facilitated for respective Professional certifications. This enhances their employability in the corporate environment.

Field Projects and Skill oriented Courses: As part of the curriculum each SBS student carries out a number of field projects under the banner of their elective options. All the courses relating to computing skills are lab-based courses and students gain hands on experience in each of them. These course ensure that students achieve high level of proficiency in them leading to high employability.

SBS offers 2-year full-time AICTE–approved Post-Graduate Diploma in Management [PGDM]. The program is characterized a variety of elective streams that establishes its industry-connect and relevance. The program is delivered through a judicious mix of lectures, case-discussions, labs, field-projects, internships etc. that would nurture the skill and exposure of the participants to the industry segment. It is also enriched through industry-interaction through industry-visits, field projects, guest-talks, internships etc.

Most of the courses in the first two semesters are common covering the entire domain of management while most of the courses in the last two semesters are specific to the elective-streams. Normally eight courses, spread out in the third and fourth semesters, aggregating to 24 credits are offered in each of the elective streams. Of the eight courses in each stream, four are core electives while the remaining four are free electives. The combinations are made in a manner to ensure certain threshold level of proficiency in the basic areas while offering maximum choice to the discerning student.

SBS offers placement assistance for programs.
