Over 180 4-H members, leaders, parents, and community supporters attended the banquet at the Northeastern Junior College (NJC) Student Center Ballroom and were entertained by the NJC Jazz Band. Cited as top 4-H members were: Kelsey Bornhoft, Bryce Hill, Cassidy Paxton and Nick Vollmer Megan Jedlicka presented the coveted County Agents’ Awards to Drew Carlson daughter of Bryce and Kendra Carlson Kaylie Lewis daughter of Mat and Wendy Lewis The “I Dare You” awards went to Veronica Karg and Weston Johnson Dr. Mike Coakley received the “Friend of 4-H” award for always willing to help out any 4-H member with their livestock. Lynn Bartlett received the 4-H Alumni award for her many years of helping out 4-H members. Rachael Northup of the High Plains 4-H Club was recognized for the top secretary’s record and received a plaque donated by the Farmer’s Union. Other secretary’s books cited were: Hanna Hickert (Chamrocks). Top 4-H Club treasurer’s award sponsored by Logan County Farm Bureau, went to Matthew Lange of the Proctor Peppers 4-H Club. Other treasurer’s books cited was: Jessica Schroeder of the High Plains 4-H Club. Outstanding Club Reporter Award, sponsored by the Sterling Journal Advocate, went to Alexa Hutt of the High Plains 4-H Club. Other reporters cited included: Brooke Stromberger of the Proctor Peppers 4-H club and Taylor Gareis of the Chamrocks 4-H club. This year’s 4-H merit award winners are as follows: Juniors - Nathan Brekel, Mc- Kinzie Davis, Bryce Hill, Tanner Hutt, Derek Lambert, Cassidy Paxton, Cathleen Romero, Jacob Schroeder, Darrian Tait and Emily Thorpe.
