They represented Ourimbah Public School with pride on Wednesday, 7 th November at Niagara Park Public School, sharing their leadership journey and involvement with community. A big thank you to Mrs Emma Elsey for supporting the group and helping to put together the presentation. Congratulations to the choir who also performed on the night and a big thank you to Miss Adams for all her hard work with the choir. A big thank you to Mrs Lauren Kenny, Miss Jakie Adams, Miss Sally Brown and Miss Sarah Gordge for their organisation of the Kinder Orientation program. The last two weeks have been a wonderful success and it is lovely to see our 2019 Kinder students enjoying themselves at ‘big school’. YEAR 6 MYUNA BAY EXCURSION A reminder that all centre based online medical forms for Myuna Bay need to be filled out by Friday, 16 th November. If you have any questions about camp please contact me on 4362 1033. ATTENDANCE Attendance letters will be coming home next week. A reminder that these letters are being sent home, regardless of whether the absences were explained or unexplained. They are used as form of communication to make you aware of how much time your child has had away from school. We understand that students get sick and at times there are events that prevent them from attending school. They represented Ourimbah Public School with pride on Wednesday, 7th November at Niagara Park Public School, sharing their leadership journey and involvement with community. school and we have a duty of care to monitor attendance. Letters are for the following reasons: • are below 85% attendance for the term • are below 85% attendance for the year • have regular unexplained or unjustified partial

absences These letters are just to keep you informed about your child’s attendance patterns at school. If your child’s attendance continues to decrease, doesn’t improve or the school becomes concerned about the amount of time away, the school may contact you for a formal meeting. If you have any questions or concerns about the attendance of your child please contact the school and make an appointment to see me. Your understanding and assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated. 2019 SCHOOL OFFICIAL ELECTIONS Congratulations to all those students who have nominated themselves to be a school official for 2019. Speeches will be held on Friday, 16th November at 1.30 pm. This is a student only event and all of Year 2 to 6 will attend. Nominees are to make sure that their speech has been checked by Mrs Wakelin or their class teacher before Friday. The qualities that we are looking for in our 2019 School Officials include:

PARENT HELPER MORNING TEA Our annual Parent Helper Morning Tea will be held on Tuesday, 27th November 2018. If you have assisted with any activities run by the school this year, please come and join us at 11.00 am in the staff room. We appreciate all of your contributions and look forward to seeing you there. 2018 PRESENTATION DAYS K-2 ANNUAL PRESENTATION The K-2 Annual Presentation Assembly will take place on Tuesday, 11th December beginning at 9.30 am. K-2 students will receive their annual class awards. Parents of award winners and class officials will be invited to the Presentation Assembly. Unfortunately, we are severely restricted by the size of our hall and can only accommodate prize winners and their parents. If you receive a letter advising that your child is an award recipient, please reply so that we can be sure that you have received the invitation. YEARS 3-6 ANNUAL PRESENTATION DAY Our Primary Presentation Day this year will be held on Wednesday, 12th December. On this day many of our Year 3-6 students will receive a variety of awards for class, band, music, sport etc. The induction of our 2019 School Officials will also take place at this assembly. The assembly will begin at 9.30 am. Unfortunately, we are severely restricted by the size of our hall and can only accommodate prize winners and their parents. If you receive a letter advising that your child is an award recipient, please reply so that we can be sure that you have received the invitation. PAYMENTS DUE NOW
