History tour of Newberg and vicinity with Newberg Graphic columnist and historian George Edmonston Jr. Visit the locations where history was made. See the boyhood home of U.S. President Herbert Hoover; the home of Oregon’s most famous inventor; where the grandparents of a Heisman Trophy winner lived. Our trips are senior-focused, but adults of all ages are invited to participate. Trip includes transportation, presenter, lunch, escort.
Learn about Newberg’s history on the April 12th tour. U.S. President Herbert Hoover lived with his Uncle John Minthorn in this house in Newberg from 1885 to 1891. (Photo Credit: Herbert Hoover Library)
