Uniforms

Now that our school uniform is available here at school at much better prices and as part of our goal to make the

school support its students as best we can, I have updated the school’s uniform policy (attached).

Merewether Public School’s clearly stated school uniform policy requires all students to wear approved school uniform.

As a parent of Merewether Public School, we assume your understanding and acceptance of this policy, and therefore

we would ask for your full support.

From Term one 2017, we will be applying our policy across the whole school.

The old school shirt will be phased out, but may still be worn through to the end of 2017.

From Term one 2017, the different coloured sports shirt will be replaced with the new navy and red polo shirt

with the school logo.

ONLY the school ‘bucket’ hat can be worn at school. The old ‘baseball’ school hat does not meet sun safety

regulations.

Other parts of the old uniform such as navy shorts and skorts still form part of the current uniform .

Students must wear black, fully enclosed school shoes that are as free from other colours and logos as much as

possible. White joggers that are as free from other colours and logos as much as possible must be worn on f

sport days.

Notes will be sent home when the incorrect uniform is worn—3 notes home and the child may be placed on a

behaviour/safety plan.

Uniform orders

The uniform shop is now CLOSED for the year including try ons. You can still place an order at the school office and it will

be ready for collection on Friday 27 January 2017 .

Reminder package deal offer finishes this Friday and only one package per child.

2 x School Polo Shirt + 1 x Sports Polo Shirt 1 x School Dress + 1 x Sports Polo Shirt $40.00 (usually $66) $40.00 (usually $67)

We also have a ‘LAY-BY’ structure in place to assist those wanting to take advantage of the offer

and pay it off over time!

School Resumes—2017

Classes 1-6 resume school on Monday 30 January 2017. Kindergarten will commence on Thursday 2 February 2017 after they have attended the school earlier in that week for the Best Start assessment.

Big Day In

Tomorrow is our Big Day In. It will be a fun day with lots of activities, BBQ and class parties.

Reminder it is out of school uniform BUT must have enclosed shoes, hat and sunscreen. Your

child/ren may wish to wear swimmers, please send a change of clothes and a plastic bag to

place wet clothes in.

There will be a jumping castle and water slide, this will require a gold coin donation.

Vacation Care

If you wish to use Vacation Care during the school holidays please return your enrolment form to the school office

as soon as possible. Reminder that you need to pay $26.00 insurance for 2017 if using the vaca-

tion care in January.

Also you can complete your normal OOSH yearly enrolment form now ready for next year. This

will also require the $26.00 insurance fee. ( If you have paid the insurance for January Vacation

care this will cover you for the year.)

National School Chaplaincy Programme in NSW Public Schools

The National School Chaplaincy Programme (NSCP) is a Commonwealth-funded initiative to support the emotional

wellbeing of students and the school community through the provision of pastoral care. The New South Wales

Government administers the Programme on behalf of the Commonwealth.

Participation by both schools and students in the National School Chaplaincy Programme is voluntary.
