NEW NORTHERN SUFFOLK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

This Addendum forms a part of the Construction Documents and modifies the original bidding documents dated May 3, 2016. The information in this Addendum supersedes any contradictory information or omission set forth in previous addendums and the Contract Documents. Where any component of the Contract Documents is modified or deleted by this Addendum, the unaltered components of that Section, Article, or Drawing shall remain in effect. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by inserting its number and date in the Proposal Form. Failure to do so may subject Bidder to disqualification. This Addendum consists of four (4) pages with two (2) Partial specification sections, four (4) Sketches, twenty-three (23) RFI responses and one (1) substitution requests. PERTAINING TO THE SPECIFICATIONS

4.1 SECTION 011000 – SUMMERY: Page 2, Paragraph 1.5.B.1, REVISE to read “The owner will

provide work under a separate contract to include the CCTV System and backend application

controllers for the Access Controls. The infrastructure for these systems is included in the base

bid contract. The door hardware, strikes, position sensors, panic bars, REX sensors and other

door related hardware is included in the base bid contract.”

CLARIFICATION: The fire alarm and intrusion detection systems are included in the base bid

contract as specified.

4.2 SECTION 074113.16 – STANDING SEAM METAL ROOF PANELS: Page 7, ADD The following

roof insulation Paragraph 2.3.D. “Polyisocyanurate Board Insulation: Two (2) layers of 2.5-inch

board insulation that produces FM Approvals-approved roof insulation. ASTM C 1289, Type II,

Class 1, Grade 2, felt or glass-fiber mat facer on both major surfaces.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 PREPARATION

A. General: Comply with CRI's "Carpet Installation Standards" and with carpet tile

manufacturer's written installation instructions for preparing substrates indicated to receive

carpet tile.

B. Use trowelable leveling and patching compounds, according to manufacturer's written

instructions, to fill cracks, holes, depressions, and protrusions in substrates. Fill or level

cracks, holes and depressions 1/8 inch wide or wider, and protrusions more than 1/32 inch

unless more stringent requirements are required by manufacturer's written instructions.

C. Concrete Substrates: Remove coatings, including curing compounds, and other substances

that are incompatible with adhesives and that contain soap, wax, oil, or silicone, without

using solvents. Use mechanical methods recommended in writing by adhesive and carpet

tile manufacturers.

D. Broom and vacuum clean substrates to be covered immediately before installing carpet tile.

Addendum 2 Reply to Question-In a reply to a pre-bid question in Addendum 2. It wasstated that DVP would supply and install the streetlight Cobrahead fixtures, alongNansemond Parkway, on existing poles, as shown on C-401 and C-402. If we carry the 2nd floor walls up to the roof deck that span in some areas is over 24’ tall which means that we will have to increase the gauge of the studs to accommodate that height.
