Overall Objectives Several accounts and agreements must be in place to contribute code to OpenStack. This lab will guide through creation of these accounts and acceptance of these agreements.
1. Launchpad account 2. OpenStack Foundation membership 3. review.openstack.org account and acceptance of ICLA

Launchpad Go to login.launchpad.net:
Select “I am a new Ubuntu One user” and fill out your email address, your name and specify a password twice. Then agree to the terms of service and click “Create account”

Click to “verify your email address”

Check the email account you listed as your email address for a confirmation code, then enter it on the validation screen and click “Continue”.

Then click “Yes, I’m sure” on the confirmation screen

OpenStack Foundation Go to https://www.openstack.org/join/ . Click “Foundation Member”

Fill out the application (all fields are required, including the affiliation), then click “Submit My Application”

A confirmation form will be displayed with your newly created account

review.openstack.org and ICLA Go to https://review.openstack.org/ and click ‘Sign in’ in the upper right

It should redirect to Launchpad, and will likely be pre-‐populated with the launcpad account created earlier

Click “Yes, log me in” which will bring up a gerrit account creation screen. Enter a username in the Username box. It’s helpful (but not a hard requirement) to make this the same as your login account name on your workstation. Then click “Select Username”

Then, add your SSH public key. If you don’t have one you can generate one by running ssh-‐keygen on your Ubuntu VM. Then paste the SSH public key (typically the contents of ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub on your Ubuntu VM) into the “Add SSH Public Key” box and click “Add”

Next click “New Contributor Agreement” at the bottom

Select which contributor agreement you will complete. For most users this is the ICLA On the agreement page, fill out all fields and then click “Submit Agreement”

It should then show a “Verified” Status
