Jeremy looks to be embracing his ‘n00b-hood’ and his friends are too busy worrying about Tyrel’s (Eli Goree) blind date to care. His only hope is World Pac Man and Donkey Kong record holder Billy Mitchell who tries to remind Jeremy what it means to be a champion.

Jimmy's Food Factory: Preserving

Today, people expect every type of seasonal food to be available 365 days a year. So how do food companies preserve food to make it safe to eat weeks, months or even years after it is produced?

This week Jimmy Doherty looks at the different methods of food storage and preservation. Why do peas have to be frozen within hours of picking, and why is factory freezing quicker than home freezing?

So, in the barn he sets up his own pea-freezing factory, using dry ice and a leaf blower. He also combines a vacuum chamber with space-age science in an attempt to suck all the water out of strawberries so the freeze-dried fruit can be added to a box of breakfast cereal.

Jimmy then visits a big factory producing chilled ready-meals to discover how they turn out meals that will stay fresh for a week. He is surprised to discover that the answer is not artificial preservatives but clever use of heat. He also goes inside the world’s biggest baked beans factory to discover how manufacturers can guarantee that, once food is sealed in the can, it stays safe for years.

This episode looks at the Hollywood movie, The Hunt For Red October. Based on the best-selling book by Tom Clancy, The Hunt for Red October tells the story of a Russian captain who attempts to defect to the West in a nuclear submarine. The film, starring Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin, was also inspired by an extraordinary incident during the Cold War.

In 1975, a Soviet naval Political Officer, Valery Sablin, started a real life mutiny. Disillusioned by the Soviet leadership, Sablin stole the state-of-the-art warship, The Sentry. Instead of defecting to the West like in the movie, Sablin planned to travel to Leningrad where he planned to broadcast a message calling on the people to overthrow their corrupt leaders.

Featuring interviews with midshipmen and lieutenants directly involved with the mutiny, drama reconstruction, CGI, and recently released documents and secret radar footage, The Hunt for Red October: The True Story tells this remarkable tale.

Singing, dancing, laughing, bad behaviour and naughty language ensue.

Opting to miss the birth of his daughter to secure a deal to sell his meth supply has made Walt (Bryan Cranston) – and Jesse (Aaron Paul) – a million dollars richer. Arriving at the hospital prepared to apologise, Walt finds Skyler (Anna Gunn) in a forgiving mood and happy that their new daughter, Holly, is healthy. And when Skyler is determined that everyone pitch in to make sure they have enough money for his cancer treatment, Walt assures her that he has everything under control.

Meanwhile, when her drug binge with Jesse makes her late for a rehab meeting, Jane (Krysten Ritter) must cover when her suspicious father, Donald (John De Lancie), presses her for an explanation.

During a panicked phone call in which Jesse announces that their stash has been stolen, Walt realises that his young partner was too high to remember that he came to the apartment to pick up the meth to complete the deal. When Jesse realises what’s happened and asks for his share, Walt will only agree to give him the money when he’s stopped using drugs. Yet, once she sees how much money is at stake, Jane hatches a plan to make sure Jesse gets paid.

Meanwhile, though Walt isn’t happy to learn that his son has set up a website to ask for donations to help the family, his lawyer points out that it’s the perfect vehicle to launder the half-million dollars in cash.

One month after a young, cocaine-abusing waitress is tragically killed in an ‘accidental’ fire at a well-known George Street bar, the Doyles are hired by the club owner Miranda Cahill (Mary Walsh) to find out if it was indeed arson. She suspects her business rival, Al Kavanaugh (Robert Joy), of torching her place in order to ruin her and thinks the dead girl deserves justice.

The Doyles chase the cooling trail of evidence; Des is conscripted on his first Doyle P.I. assignment; and Leslie starts to warm up to Jake by reluctantly helping him out. Jake and Leslie expose a web of shady business dealings and affairs, leading to the revelation of a tragic and deep secret held by Miranda’s erratic and violent younger husband, Tony Baker (Steve Cochrane).

Following a lead brings Jake to a club where he runs into a very tipsy Leslie and he brings her home to the Doyle house -- but only to sleep it off, by herself. With Leslie now in his sights and on his couch, Jake considers moving on with his life and soon starts the process of removing some of his stuff from the house he and Nikki shared - when he accidentally discovers a pregnancy test in the garbage can.

Featuring stunning footage from his films and insightful contributions from an eclectic range of interviewees, including admirers Mike Mills, Frank Black and Sylvain Chomet, as well as artists, academics and former collaborators, The Magnificent Tati proves absolutely fascinating.

Edge Of Darkness

The nightmare begins the night Detective Inspector Ronald Craven sees his daughter Emma shot dead before his very eyes. His colleagues think that he was the true target – a revenge killing by a villain he had put away.

Craven cannot let it rest there. From an encounter with two special security agents working for the Prime Minister’s office, he learns that Emma was a member of the secret eco-war riot group, GAIA. She had led an expedition into Northmoor, a privately owned nuclear waste plant. All six members of the expedition are now missing, presumed dead.

With the British Government and Scotland Yard now monitoring his progress, Craven is contacted by Darius Jedburgh, a maverick CIA field operative who reveals the full extent of Emma’s involvement in GAIA. Jedburgh has strong views on the misuse of power. He is seriously worried by a takeover bid for Northmoor by Grogan, an entrepreneur from Kansas whose apocalyptic vision of man’s future is matched only by his fanatical commitment to military technology.
