Mr. Sherman, AA social studies teacher, and a group of sponsors have been enjoying the history tour of New England April 28 to May 3, 2019. They have seen many sights and for the major locations they have gone on guid-ed tours to experience and understand the history that occurred at that location. When one looks at the itinerary it amazes me that Mr. Sherman can fit in so many sites in such a short time. To see more pictures of this tour please go to Facebook as pictures become available. This tour returns Friday afternoon.

On Monday, we had a slow start to the week as the rain pelted the roof but we’re blessed to have shelter and hear God's word. Pastor Glassford gave our daily devotional thought on honor and integrity. He began with a story from his childhood how he always had a low-esteem because he always thought people expected more from him. He also said, "one stu-pid thing can send you honor in a downfall". We examined the story of Nebuchadnezzar and his pride for his city of Babylon and his dream. Nebuchadnezzar was so proud that God turned him into a “cow” for sev-en years to humble him. When he came back into power he gave all the glory to God in Heaven and was even greater in Babylon. Pastor Glass-ford finished up by saying when people push you don't forget your per-sonal honor and to honor God.

Tuesday morning started with some of the freshmen class leading us in a beautiful song service. John Kent, NHS Pastor and senior, gave our daily devotional thought on the second coming of Jesus. He be-gan with a childhood story of when he attended the Buchanan SDA Church and how a group of friends were talking and realized that maybe the second coming was more the just waiting and watching. John suggested that we need to have a relationship with Jesus and when we are connected to Him we will see the world crumbling and know the time is near. He compared Jesus to a significant other and said "Would you dump your significant other for another person?" Are we constantly "dumping" Jesus for the things of this sin-filled

    world?

On Wednesday, we were blessed to have Pastor Joe Reeves, Village SDA Church Youth Pastor, give our daily devotional thought. He talked to us about keeping the faith and testimony of Jesus. Pastor Reeves began with a story that took place 12 years ago in California when he was invited to be guest musician. He met this 16 year-old boy, Seth, who recently became a Christian and loved writing/composing music. But when he became a Christian he had a convic-tion to delete his "worldly" songs that didn't glorify the Lord. Seth then told Pastor Reeves, "I don't want to be part of a church whose young people don't leave the faith." That really spoke to Pastor Reeves, since he lived the typical Adventist lifestyle, never wander-ing in wild proportions. Seth wanted to join the SDA church because he saw people like Pastor Reeves and others who grew up in the church and stayed in the church. Pastor Reeves said that we, just like people who have a "colorful" testimony, can be a witness by sticking to our faith. He finished off by talk-ing about David - concluding that, "God is a God of forgiveness, but there is still consequences to your decisions."

On Thursday a group of students led out in song service sing-ing the beautiful hymn "I Surrender All”. It reminding us that we should always surrender to God because He is the life giver. We were also blessed to have Kathryn Smoler, a fresh-man, give us an excellent devotional thought on how God intentionally made variety. She gave us the example of cook-ing with different spices to make flavorful food and how God made a variety of humans/animals to make a unique world. We looked at Genesis 1:26 "Let us make man in our image", meaning that we are all images of God and when we treat somebody inferior we are cracking God's image.
