  • A LOOK TO THE FUTURE: MADINAT AL MAWATER, DOHA (QATAR)

WHERE:Madinat Al Mawater is on Salwa Road, the main artery leading to Doha, the capital of Qatar. Situated on the eastern coast of the country, it is a highly active commercial and financial city dating back to 1825, when it was first called Al Bida. It has faced much recent development: the skyline of the city reflects a contemporary style looking to the future.

    WHEN:February 2017

CUSTOMER:SAFETECH ELECTROMECHANIC TRADING & CONTRACTING CO.

  • The Madinat Al Mawater project was taken on by Barwa Real Estate, who wished to develop an integrated masterplan of used car dealerships currently spread throughout Doha. The site covers 115 hectares and is located north of Salwa Road. The main plan envisages four districts each consisting of two urban blocks with showrooms of 400, 800 and 1000 square metres, car storage areas and workshops. In addition to the showrooms and support facilities, there will be a leisure area for fun on wheels in the south-west, like a go-kart track, a racing track, a 4WD track and a BMX track.A further added value is the use of interchangeable modules which can be combined to create disparate and unique architectural solutions, while remaining faithful to the main criteria of the project. The water systems were entrusted to DAB whose contribution was the supply of pumps for pressurisation and waste water lifting.
