Principal ‘s Message.

Greetings from DPS-MIS!!!

"On the other side of a storm is the strength

that comes from having navigated through

it. Raise your sail and begin."

We at DPS-Modern Indian School have

taken this as an opportunity to explore new

horizons. We believe that persistence and

resilience only come from having been given

the chance to work through difficult

problems. Our school adopted online

learning for grades X & XII on the 15th of

March and there was no looking back. And as promised, the new academic

year began on the 5th April 2020 for the entire school but with a

difference-school commenced for the academic year 2020-2021 virtually.

My personal opinion is that we have indeed learnt a new way of operating

school but let us go slow and also pray that we return to our school

physically at the earliest, to help holistic development of our students. The

biggest take away from this situation is how much we should be investing

in developing relationships that usually gets neglected during the regular

school year.

Vice PrinciPal’s Message

“We don’t want to teach any child anything; we want to make them

think”

Young and tender minds are the very heart of the school. Kindergarten

is a unique educational environment. We believe that the toddlers should enjoy

their time at school, therefore, we provide a happy and safe environment within

which students can experience opportunities beyond the classroom. It is a place

where we have committed ourselves to the vision of raising achievement, raising

aspirations, and enriching partnerships. The school has chosen to place itself

at the forefront of educational development, the focus on developing a learning

environment and a commitment for Kindergarten starters to be inclusive, with

unique ways to help all students continue their learning. We want to continue

to create the opportunity for all to succeed.

As a school, we recognize the importance of the global dimension and the need to prepare our students

with cross-cultural competency skills. Along with intellectual diversity, the differing life experiences and

approaches our staff to bring to our school help us understand and meet student’s needs and the need for

work’s ultimate beneficiaries – our students. With diversity and inclusion as priorities, we work towards

achieving our mission. We will ensure that we create a good human being, conscious citizens, and smart people

and transform DPSites into glittering silver and gold.

Ms. Shifa Shaikh

Vice Principal, Junior Wing – KG to V

Kindergarten interiM in charge’s Message

Education has been hit particularly hard by the COVID-19

pandemic but at DPS Modern Indian School, it has been a new

learning experience for the teachers, parents, and students. The new

academic year 2020-2021 started with a lot of hiccups but we all sailed

through it and are striving hard to do the best for our students.

Ms. Najla Mohammad Bukhari

Interim In charge Kindergarten

People do not decide to become

extraordinary. They decide to accomplish

extraordinary things.

A key lesson learned during the pandemic is the important role teachers play in ensuring

that learning continues. As schools reopen, a lot depended on teachers to ensure that children will

be able to continue their education in a safe and healthy environment; and make up for knowledge

and skills that may have been lost. As schools reopen, precautions must be taken both inside and

outside the classroom to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

All the academic classes went off smoothly both offline and online. Children learn’t many

things and even the assessments were conducted, and all the children enthusiastically participated.

Education

Is not the learning of facts, but training of

the mind to think.

A child doesn’t necessarily need a classroom to learn their lessons. School made studies less formal by

interpolating textbook knowledge with some educational activities for kids.

Every activity in school life plays a significant role in the development of students. Co-curricular activities are an

essential part of school life and help in enhancing the learning process of students at school. Co-

Curricular activities are compulsory activities that are important for every student to participate in. These

activities make education less stressful and more interesting.

Festival Activity

“Festivals promote diversity, they increase creativity and they help us to be in

place with a single belief”

Festivals are an expressive way to celebrate glorious heritage,

culture, and traditions. They are meant to rejoice special moments

and emotions in our lives with our loved ones. Celebrating events

and festivals in our school has become an integral part of learning

and building a strong cultural belief. Such celebrations bring the

students closer to each other's traditions and cultural beliefs and

develop respect and understanding for each other's customs and

traditions.

Class Preparatory conducted Festival Activity virtually on 25th November 2020 to make the little ones aware of

various cultural beliefs and to understand our countries traditions. Children have explained all the festivals of

India as part of the curriculum over the week. Before the activity, a template for decoration of different Festivals

like Diwali, Eid and Christmas was sent to give more hands-on experience. The children were instructed to keep

the cut-outs ready of any one festival of their choice from coloured paper, glitter foam sheet, and a ribbon or

rope.

Activity Corner

After the activity was completed, the children showcased it proudly. The sparkle in their eyes was seen. A class

photograph in a group of four was taken the next day.

Class Preparatory students celebrated Diwali in their own way.

The much-awaited Indian festival of lights, Diwali was just around the corner. This festival marked

the celebration of togetherness, love, and sharing... Few videos of tiny tots were uploaded on Facebook.

Show & Tell Activity

“Imagination is more important than knowledge: Knowledge is limited.

Imagination encircles the world!

Students who participate in extracurricular activities get better grades. This is because of the skills they learn

from participating in different activities. Students learn to manage time, organizational skills, and improved

self-confidence. Students also learn to express themselves in a better way.

Show and tell which is sometimes called as show and share activity is the practice of showing something to an

audience and describi ng it to them, usually a toy or other child-oriented item.

DPS-MIS organized Show and Tell Activity to the children of Class Preparatory on 1st Dec 2020 virtually to

strengthen the verbal skills and to foster public speaking competency of the young minds. This time it was

slightly different than the previous years due to the outburst of the pandemic.

The students were informed to dress up and speak about their favourite festivals along with the props. They

were excited to share their descriptive narration and waited eagerly for their turn to show and tell. Thus, this

event helped our tiny tots to build their social, emotional, and language skills. Students displayed their talents

on the given topic “Festivals” with great zeal and enthusiasm. Children were dressed in festival costumes like

Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Pongal, Onam, etc. The effort and hard work of the children were highly commendable.

The Teacher pinned each child’s video and heard them speak patiently. In the end, parents were informed to

send their wards picture to the class teacher.

Overall, it was an interesting and thrilling experience for the kids sharing their feelings with a peer which

provided a fun and comfortable learning arena for everyone involved. This activity helped them to build their

self-confidence and self-esteem. It enabled them to improve their overall skills by communicating feelings,

thoughts, and emotions with words.

Qatar National Day

I stand with Humanity, I stand with Peace, I stand with Truth, I stand with

Love... Happy Qatar National Day

Qatar National Day's vision aims for unity, loyalty, and pride, in the Qatari identity. Qatar National Day is

Celebrated annually on 18th December every year to commemorate the country’s unification in 1878. It is a day

to celebrate the unique history and heritage of the Qatari people and to keep past traditions alive.

It’s December and everyone is gearing up for the Qatar National day with decorated cars and Qatari flags all

around Doha. Qatar’s flags have been raised on the lighting poles to float in the sky of glory. Palm trees

twinkling with festive lights line the streets of Corniche for parades and festivities.

Class Preparatory children are geared up for their winter break but how can they miss out on all the fun and

excitement of celebrating Qatar National Day with their friends? So, on 2nd December 2020, DPS-MIS

organized an activity for the little ones where the children came dressed up in the traditional outfits linked to

the Qatari flag representing the country, they live in.

The whole atmosphere was filled with zeal, enthusiasm, and patriotism. The classrooms too were decorated for

this day. The day started with the national anthem of Qatar followed by the virtual fireworks and parade. Then

the teacher explained the importance of Qatar National Day to the tiny tots. The day was concluded with an

activity where the Qatar flag worksheet was uploaded for the kids along with online content. They were

informed to take the printout and keep the sago seeds and Rajma ready for the activity. During the online class,

the kids actively took part and made the Qatar flag by sticking the pulses. Class teachers captured the moment

by taking a group photo online.

It was indeed a fun activity online where the kids passionately got involved and learn’t about the country Qatar.

Special thanks to the parents who are always willing to lend a helping hand.

Kindergarten Qatar National Day – Flavours of Qatar

Kids always express their symbolic gesture of love and harmony in

whatever they do!!

Involving children in meal preparation can be a fun experience for both mother and child. In addition to

teaching the child some basic cooking skills, it gives the opportunity to develop a rapport with the children.

However, beginning their cooking lessons with recipes that involve fire may not be safe.

DPS-MIS organized a ‘Live online Cooking without fire activity’ on 2nd December 2020 for the tiny tots of

Kindergarten. It was named Flavours of Qatar – Cooking without fire, ‘Fusion of Indo-Arabic way’ where

children can make delicious no-flame recipes themselves with their moms by minimum vigilance.

This activity was conducted in collaboration with the Qatar National day and the rich heritage and culture that

it beholds. Children participated with full passion and eagerness with their traditional Qatari attire, helping

their mothers with their tiny hands and tasting the food prepared, and showing their emotions virtually to their

teachers. The Qatari dishes like Fattoush, Sandwich, Hummus, Falafel, etc. were well depicted by these tiny tots

as they displayed it in the typical Qatari style and flag color. In the end, each child explained what dish they

prepared along with their mothers.

This event provided a platform for the tiny tots to help children develop a positive connection to all different

types of foods including fruits and vegetables. It also helped children to build confidence, work as a team, foster

their creativity and decision-making skills, and helped them to explore their hidden talents.

Dear Ma'am, As the online classes are in the completion stage, we are taking this opportunity to thank Reyansh‘s class teacher

who takes care of our children’s welfare. During the start of the session, we were worried about the academics

of our kid. But as time goes on, the hard work & efforts of Ma’am has made things normal as physical classes.

Thank you so much Ma’am for your wisdom & capability of handling /guiding small kids and all the things that

you do for our children. Thank you so much for your kind efforts to switch from physical classes to ONLINE

classes.

Also, we would like to congratulate the school management for achieving the blended education system

successful. Also, the management’s efficient decisions and stringent COVID compliances lead to COVID free

school environment.

Thanking You.

Dear Principal Mam,

As parents, we are really happy and inspired by the way that teachers and the whole DPS team have taken

care of our kids’ education.

I would like to take this opportunity to convey our special thanks and gratitude to Mam for her outstanding job.

It was challenging for teachers, parents and kids but Mam has has done it so efficiently, and was a blessing to

see and understand it lively through online classes.

She is a passionate and intelligent teacher who is able to pick up all the positives and negatives of her students

and guide them to excel.

A big thank you, all talented teachers and support teams for the incredible work during this tough time.

Thanks, and Regards

Dear Principal Ma'am,

I am writing this email to express my sincere gratitude to the school and the wonderful teacher, assigned for my

daughter's class. This year everyone has gone through a lot, including us. In these difficult times, Principal Ma'am

you have been really supportive and understanding. Thank you for giving my younger daughter an opportunity to

study at your school in the middle of the year.

Khushi is a very cheerful but sensitive child and we were really anxious about her beginning with DPS-MIS in

the virtual environment. However, to our delight and relief mam has been very understanding and helpful in

keeping a friendly environment in the virtual classroom and thus allowing khushi to be herself. This is really the

best gift any teacher can give her students. Ma’am has always maintained a friendly and balanced environment

in the classroom even when she had to face unprecedented situations during her online sessions.

I am looking forward to a fruitful year with her during this academic session and again would like to congratulate

the school and ma'am for doing a great job.

Yours Sincerely,

Dear mam,

Dear Ma’am,

During this pandemic, not only me but every parent had tension about their ward’s education especially, in nursery

and Preparatory as this is the basis of their education. But after attending ma’am’s class with my daughter, I was

assured that this year will not go to waste. She is very friendly and Teertha loves to attend her class. Teertha is

very enthusiastic to go to school.

Thank You
