About this Manual

This manual describes the setup procedure and operation verification for A-AUTO for Windows System.

For operation procedures of A-AUTO for UNIX/Windows system, please refer to "A-AUTO for UNIX/Windows User's Guide".

Since OS specific information is limited to necessary information for installation of A-AUTO for UNIX/Windows in this

manual, please refer to the OS manual if needed.

Chapter 1 A-AUTO for Windows Setup

1.1 Essential software

The following components must be installed. Install each component in accordance with ReadMe included

with the installer.

• AUTO Server

• AUTO for Windows

• Postgre SQL

• Postgre SQL ODBC Driver

• Java(TM) SE Development Kit V 6 update 7

1.2 Configuration

Change the Communication environment settings as described below.

1.2.1 Communication Environment settings

Communication environment settings for A-AUTO Server for Windows

① Run 'Communication Environment Settings'

(Start Menu) - [Programs] - [BSP] - [A-AUTO Server] - [Communication Environment Settings]

* For Windows Server 2008, right-click [Communication Environment Settings] and choose "Run as

administrator".

② Click <System> tab.

③ Select '00' from the dropdown list 'ID'.

④ Click <Communication Environment> tab.

⑤ Click <Add> button. 'Add Section' dialog is displayed.

⑥ Enter 'AUTO01' and click 'OK'. ‘AUTO01’ is added to the ’Destination List’.

⑦ Select 'AUTO01' from 'Destination List'..

⑧ Enter the following values.

- Node Name: (Computer Name of the machine where A-AUTO for Windows resides)

- Driver Name: BSPTCPNT

- Port Number: 20000

- Buffer Size: 2048

- Option: ASV=A

- IP Address: (IP Address of the machine where A-AUTO for Windows resides)

* Node Name, Port number and IP Address must match the values entered during the installation of A-AUTO for

Windows.

⑨ Click 'Apply' button to save the settings.

⑩ Click on ‘OK’ button to exit the program.

On the machine where A-AUTO for Windows resides

① Run 'Communication Environment Settings'

(Start Menu) - [Programs] - [BSP] - [A-AUTO for Windows] - [Communication Environment Settings]

* For Windows Server 2008, right-click [Communication Environment Settings] and choose "Start as

administrator".

② Click <System> tab.

③ Select '01' from the dropdown list 'ID'.

④ Click <Communication Environment> tab.

⑤ Select 'ASVSRV' in 'Destination List' pane.

⑥ Enter the following values.

- Node Name: (Computer Name of the machine where A-AUTO Server for Windows resides)

- Driver Name: BSPTCPNT

- Port Number: 9000

- Buffer Size: 2048

- Option: AP KEEPALIVE

- IP Address: (IP Address of the machine where A-AUTO Server for Windows resides)

⑦ Click 'Apply' button to save the settings. Click on ‘OK’ button to exit the program.

1.3 License registration

License key (BSPLIC.KEY) must be registered into the machine where A-AUTO for Windows is installed.

License key would be either sent from [email protected] or comes with the installer and is installed in the

following directory: %Directory where A-AUTO is downloaded%\License\ .

Run A-AUTO License Management

(Start Menu) - [Programs] - [BSP] - [A-AUTO for Windows] – [License Registration]

* For Windows Server 2008, right-click [Communication Environment Settings] and choose "Start as

administrator".

① Click <Add License>

② Select the License Key file from explorer dialog displayed.

③ Click ‘Yes’ when a dialogue is displayed.

④ Click ‘EXIT’ to close the dialogue.

1.4 Launch processes

Activate the following services/processes in the following order before setting up A-AUTO.

Launch the Service window to activate services. Service window can be displayed by selecting “Administrative tools”

from the Windows Control panel.

(1) Postgre SQL

Start “Postgre SQL Database Server 8.3” service from the Service window.

(2) ABASINIT

Start “ABASINIT” service from the Service window. ABASINIT can be started manually as well. Please refer to “6.1.1

Starting and Stopping ABASINIT” of System Administrator’s guide for details.

(3) A-AUTO

Start “A-AUTO” service from the Service window. A-AUTO Monitor can be started manually as well. Please refer to

“6.1.2 Starting and Stopping A-AUTO Monitor” of System Administrator’s guide for details.

(4) A-AUTO Agent

Start “A-AUTO Agent” service from the Service window. A-AUTO Agent can be started manually as well. Please refer to

“6.1.5 Starting and Stopping A-AUTO Agent” of System Administrator’s guide for details.

(5) A-AUTO AP Server

Start “A-AUTO Ap Server” service from the Service window. A-AUTO AP Server can be started manually as well.

Please refer to “6.1.8 Starting and Stopping AP-LINK” of System Administrator’s Guide for details.

(6) A-AUTO Web Server

Start “A-AUTO Web Server” service from the Service window. A-AUTO Web Server can be started manually as well. To

launch A-AUTO Web Server manually, please run the following batch file:

C:\BSP\A-AUTO_WebServer\bat\server.bat (default setting is assumed).

Follow the procedures below to prepare sample jobs (Networks) for testing under A-AUTO.

① Stop “A-AUTO” service from the Service window.

② Launch command prompt

(Start Menu) - [Command Prompt]

* For Windows Server 2008, right-click [Communication Environment Settings] and choose "Start as

administrator".

③ Enter the following command to load test Jobs

tallocate

④ Enter the following command to generate Job execution schedule (Network Schedule).

sgen

⑤ Enter the following command to start A-AUTO with Cold start.

start mcp cold

⑥ Enter the following command to finalize the generated Network Schedule.

asvsfin

⑦ Enter the following command to run queuing.

cip q

Confirm that the following message is displayed after issuing the command.

QUEUING COMPLETED WITH TOTAL NETWORKS SUCCESS : 56, FAILURE : 0

3.1 Register A-AUTO Monitor

In order to perform A-AUTO Master maintenance and monitor Job execution of A-AUTO, A-AUTO Monitor ID must be

defined for each A-AUTO. The following are the setup procedures.

3.1.1 Login to A-AUTO Web server

(1) Launch Internet Explorer.

* For Windows Server 2003 and 2008, perform the following procedure before step (2)

① Launch Internet Explorer

② Click [Tools] – [Internet Options] from the tool bar.

③ Click the [Security] tab

④ Click [Trusted sites] and then click [Sites].

⑤ Enter the following to “Add this website to the zone”: about:blank.

⑥ Click [Add].

⑦ Enter the following to “Add this website to the zone”: http://xxx/a-auto (assume xxx is the node name of the

computer where A-AUTO Server is installed)

⑧ Uncheck 'Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.'.

⑨ Click [Add].

⑩ Click [Close] and close the Trusted sites dialogue.

⑪ Click [OK] to save the settings and exit Internet Options.

(2) Type-in the following url to display the login window of A-AUTO (assume xxx is the node name of the computer where

A-AUTO Server is installed): http://xxx/a-auto

(3) Login to A-AUTO/Web client. The default user ID and password for the administrator is auto/auto. A-AUTO Main

Windows is displayed.

* Please note that it takes time to display the A-AUTO/Web client for the first time.

3.1.2 Register Monitor ID of A-AUTO

(1) In A-AUTO Main Windows, click “System Management” on System Management pane. System Management window

will be displayed.

(2) Click the “Agent” tab of System Management window.

(3) Click the Agent name in ASVSRV/Agent List pane. ASVSRV/AUTO01 pane will be displayed in the lower portion of the

window.

(4) Enter the following information in the “Create” pane

Monitor ID AUTO01

Multiplicity of Class A 10

Install directory of A-AUTO C:\BSP\AUW\BIN\

(5) Click “Apply” on the “Create” pane to apply settings

(6) The new Monitor ID will be displayed in ASVSRV/AUTO01 pane if A-AUTO Monitor ID settings are registered

successfully.

(7) Click “Apply” on ASVSRV/AUTO01 pane.

(8) Click “Refresh” on ASVSRV/Agent List pane to confirm that Monitor settings are registered.

(9) On “Application Definition” pane of A-AUTO Main Windows, click “Refresh” icon to confirm that Monitor ID is registered.

3.2 Start Monitoring A-AUTO

The following section explains the procedures on how to connect to A-AUTO from A-AUTO Server.

(1) In A-AUTO Main Windows, click “System Management” on System Management pane. System Management window

will be displayed.

(2) Click the “Agent” tab of System Management window.

(3) On ASVSRV/Agent List pane, select “Connect” from the pull-down menu and click “Execute”.

(4) ‘Request Connecting’ dialogue will be displayed.

(5) Select “AUTO01” and click “Execute”.

(6) Click the Refresh icon to confirm that A-AUTO server is connected to AUTO01.

(7) On ASVSRV/Agent List pane, select “Start Monitoring” from the pull-down menu and click “Execute”.

(8) ‘Request Start Monitoring’ dialogue will be displayed.

(9) Select ‘AUTO01’ for Agent name and the current CPU date for Schedule Date and click “Execute”.

*The Schedule Date displayed in the dialogue must be the same with date when test jobs are prepared (the procedures

described in Chapter 2 is performed). If not, please perform the procedures described in Chapter 2 before transmitting

request to start monitoring.

(10) Click the Refresh icon to confirm that A-AUTO Server has started monitoring.

3.3 Define Monitoring Setting

In A-AUTO, users can monitor Job execution progress via web client. To do so, users must first define the monitoring

setting, the settings on which A-AUTOs or Jobs to display, how to display, etc. This section describes the basic

monitoring settings.

(1) In A-AUTO Main Windows, click “Create” on Application Monitor pane.

(2) Specify a setting name for Application Monitor Setting Name, select “Chart” for Default Display Style, select all check

boxes in ‘Watch List’, and click apply. Click “OK” when pop-up window is displayed.

(3) Close Application Monitor window.

(4) Click the Refresh icon on Application Monitor pane. Monitoring setting is registered successfully if the setting name

specified in step (2) is displayed.

3.4 Start Monitoring Job execution progress

In A-AUTO Main Windows, click the Application Monitor Setting Name in Application Monitor pane.

Application Monitor Window will be displayed.

Some test jobs do not start because they have Network attributes that cause wait conditions such as waiting triggering

event to occur. Users can issue commands to reset such attributes and allow such Networks to run.

4.1 Issue Reset Command (Input Data Wait)

The first Network to be executed, BSPSTA, has “Input Data Wait” attribute, which holds the Network from being

executed until the specified data arrives or is created. Commands can be issued to Networks from Network Monitoring

window. To reset this attribute and run this Network, ‘Reset’ command may be issued in Application Monitor window.

(1) Click on the icon of the Network for which an A-AUTO command is to be issued. List of commands will be displayed.

(2) Select “Reset” from the list.

(3) “Reset” dialogue will be dislplayed.

(4) Select “BSPSTA” for Network ID, and check “Reset Input Data Wait” .

(5) Click Execute. Click “OK” when pop-up window is displayed.

4.2 Issue Monitor On Command

When “Input Data Wait” attribute is defined to a Network, its succeeding Network(s) will not start until “Monitor On Wait”

condition is released for the Network. “Monitor On Wait” condition may be released using ‘Monitor On’ command in

Application Monitor window.

Monitor On option defines whether the succeeding Networks of a Network with Input Data Wait attribute are to be

released automatically for execution when the Network ends normally. If Monitor On field of this Network is selected (set

to ON), when this Network normally ends, A-AUTO Monitor automatically released the Monitor On Wait condition and

the succeeding Network(s) will be executed without waiting for a command input from the operator.

(1) Click on the icon of the Network for which an A-AUTO command is to be issued.

(2) Select “Monitor” from the list of commands.

(3) “Monitor” dialogue will be dislplayed.

(4) Select “BSPSTA” for Network ID, and check “Monitor ON” .

(5) Click Execute. Click “OK” when pop-up window is displayed.

4.3 Issue Reset Command (Start Time)

Test Network OLTM01 has Start Time attribute, which holds the Network from being executed until the specified time.

The specified time is 11:30. If 11:30 has not arrived and a user wishes to execute the network immediately, Start Time

must be reset to start the Network.

(1) Click on the icon of the Network for which an A-AUTO command is to be issued.

(2) Select “Reset” from the list of commands.

(3) “Reset” dialogue will be dislplayed.

(4) Select “OLTM01” for Network ID

(5) Check “Start Time” and define 0:00 for time.

(6) Click Execute. Click “OK” when pop-up window is displayed.

4.4 Check abnormally ended Network

When a Network ends abnormally, a dialogue pops up. Users can check detailed information regarding abnormally

ended job. Also, information regarding abnormally ended Networks are recorded by A-AUTO and the Network will be

placed in Abnormally Ended state that requires the operator’s intervention. The Network is recorded in Abnormally

Terminated Network file until it is rerun and ends normally. Otherwise, users can delete such record from A-AUTO Web

Client.

Test Network OLTM04 is designed to end abnormally.

■Check detailed information regarding abnormally ended Network

(1) “Alert List” dialogue is displayed when execution of OLTM04 ends abnormally.

(2) Click OLTM04 from “Alert List” dialogue to display detailed information on OLTM04.

■Delete Abnormally Ended Network Information

(1) Check the box next to OLTM04 from Alert List dialogue.

(2) Click “Delete”. Tom dialogue is displayed.

(3) Confirm that OLTM04 is displayed for Network ID and check the box next to “Free On”.

(4) Click “Execute”.

(5) Confirm that the Network icon for OLTM04 is turned from red to pink, indicating that Abnormally Ended Network state

has been reset.

4.5 Check execution progress

Users can check the latest status of Network execution by clicking “Refresh” button on Network Monitoring pane in the

Application Monitor window.

Different colors of the Network icons indicate the different statuses of the Networks.

• Yellow

The Network is in the queue and waiting to be executed.

• Green

The Network is currently running.

• Blue

The Network has finished successfully.

• Red

The Network has ended abnormally.

• Pink

The Network has ended abnormally, but Abnormally Ended Network Information has been deleted.

4.6 Issue Release Command

Network OLTM12 has “Hold” attribute. If this attribute is defined, the Network cannot start until ’Release’ command is

issued. ‘Release’ command can be issued in the Application Monitor Windows.

(1) Click on the icon of the Network for which an A-AUTO command is to be issued.

(2) Select “Release” from the list of commands.

(3) “Release” dialogue will be dislplayed.

(4) Select “OLTM12” for Network ID and check “Network Release” for Type.

(5) Click Execute. Click “OK” when pop-up window is displayed.

Network BSPEND has “Input Data Wait” attribute. Reset this attribute using the procedure described in “4.1 Issue Reset

Command (Input Data Wait)”.

Click “Refresh” button. Confirm that all Networks, except network OLTM04, have ended successfully. This completes

the execution of test jobs.

4.7 Post-processing

After running Test Jobs, stop services/processes from the Service window. For A-AUTO, issue the following command

from command prompt to stop processing.

cip close

To run test jobs again, please issue the following command and perform the procedures decribed on chapter 2.

tallocate

To initialize A-AUTO and start registering your own jobs, please issue the following command.

allocate
