Although the above instructions outline how to create a live stream within Panopto, the link is only available once the stream has already started. To share a live stream before it starts, you must create it through the Panopto web page – this will allow you to control the permissions and sharing options before the stream is started. See the “Sharing Options” document for more information

Navigate to the Panopto web page within your browser and login using your Blackboard credentials as outlined in the “Downloading Panopto” document

Press the “Create” button at the top of the page and select “Webcast”

The next screen will give you all of the regular Panopto video options, including sharing permissions, without having to start the stream first as in the first method This method enables you to share a link to a future live stream, and ensure that the correct people will be able to view when you choose to start the live stream

To learn more about permissions and sharing options etc, read the “Sharing Options” document

When you are happy with your live stream setup, you can close the web page and/or log out. The stream has been created and is waiting for you to start it within the Panopto application. The next page outlines how to do this

Before starting the recording, it is advisable to view the resolution settings Resolution refers to the overall sharpness of the screen recording. Generally speaking, the higher the resolution, the higher the image quality If you wish to show videos or any other type of motion in your screen recording, push the fps slider up to at least 20. This indicates a higher framerate, and will capture motion much better

These are the recommended Windows settings for capturing motion in your recording
