Style sheet

These fonts above I chose because they all have a comic style theme which matches the magazine I am planning on making. The 3rd and 5th font may be difficult to make using pixels because of the amount of shading detail. The 2nd font will be good for the main title of the magazine.

These fonts that I have been looking at here are traditional simple fonts which could commonly be used in other magazines. I like the 2nd one because it looks much lighter and magazine friendly. I don’t think ill have any problems making these fonts using pixels.

I used Dafont.com to look as some fonts which were already made from pixels. I like the neon pixel font because it already looks like the traditional magazine font. I also like the Pixellife font which would look good for the text.

These two colours schemes have dark natural colours which would be good for me to use on backgrounds so I can use brighter colours for the text and images. Or I could use these colours for characters that are villains.

Style sheet

I looked at colour schemes that I would be able to use for skin tones as I am going to create some people. These colours would suit the cartoon pixelated theme well because they aren’t really realistic but there is plenty of different shades to add shadows and blemishes.

These colours are much brighter and vibrant. I like these colours because they give of a positive mood and would be good to use for a page that was aimed at a children's films. They also make everything clearer and easier to read/see. These image styles show

the characters in a cartoon form with a plain white background, this would make it easier for me to make them pixelated. I like how we can see the whole front the characters from the front angle.

I like the images styles that show only a part of the character as well. We can see the background and it tells us more about the characters personality. I might have to use these image styles as draw over them using the pencil tool on Photoshop.

Layout 1

Batman VS Superman: Dawn Of JusticeFinding Dory Ghostbusters

HardcoreHenry Captain America Civil WarThe BFG

Suicide Squad

X-MEN

I’d like to use this layout for my front cover because everything fits around the centre image. I like how one side of the page consists of text and the other side pictures. I think the colours on the logos are to bright compared to the other colours used on the centre piece, text and the background. I also like how the centre image overlaps everything else on the page, it makes it stand out which is good because it’s the most important and obvious thing on the page.

I might use this layout for my final product and I might also use a selection of different colours and move some things around. I have decided to not put the barcode or any competitions on the front cover because id like them to be on the back cover so they don’t take up as much room. I think that the simple fonts I chose to use for my layout would be really good for my final piece as they wouldn’t be to difficult to do using pixels. Because of the amount of detail on the centre image I think it will be the most time consuming to make pixelated.

Layout 2I am going to use this layout for one of my page spreads. I think a character guide is a good idea for a younger audience, there is also less for them to read. The use of columns is also good because other existing magazines also use columns. I think that this layout would be better and more accurate if I used the ruler tool to measure the columns so they were an equal distance apart, I could do this when making my final product. I also think that the size proportion of the images is to big and would make the text smaller than it actually is. I also think that I need to add another title which mentions that the page is a character guide.

Overall I like this layout and think it would be really good to prove that my magazine has a mix of different topics for different age groups. The colours and children themes images. This article choice has also kept to the idea of featuring films that are relevant or due to be released.

Destiny is an new character who is a really close friend to Dory and may come in handy on their quest. Destiny is having her own problems relating to the way she swims.

Charlie and Jenny are Dory’s parents. We can certainly see where Dory gets her personality from. These two characters will be really easy to fall in love with.

Dory is on a quest to find her lost parents after she discovers what memories are and wishes to fix the relationship she never has with them. We see more of this character throughout the whole film.

Nemo helps Dory with her quest even though his dad doesn’t agree with the plan and will be worried about his safety. Not to mention his education witch should be his priority.

Mr.Ray is back again. This time he is taking the children's education more seriously.

Bailey is a close friend of Destiny's but Destiny is struggling to get through to him, can Dory help.

Contingency PlanningPotential Issue Solution

The image I chose to use being to detail and complicated for the amount of pixels I am planning on using.

Chose another image or change the resolution so there is less pixels.

When using the fonts from Dafont.com there could be issues with the size and finding the same font again.

Save the webpage in Google favourites or download that specific font onto the computer.

The resolution I choose to use might make the text difficult to read or make out.

I can change the background to a jpeg and then open it up again in Photoshop so the text is an image on an A4 page.

I might not be able to find the same colours I have already used on Photoshop to use it again.

I can select that colour when the colour selection is open or I can use a simple basic colour which would be easy to find.

The computer I choose to use may not work or be compatible with Photoshop.

Using another computer or contacting the ICT staff.

Some images I use may mean I am at risk of copyright infringement.

Check for the copyright symbol/mark on the website that I get the images from.
