Following her work there, sheworked at Golden Pizza, also worked inthe psychiatric ward at Borgess Hospitalin the early 70s and ended her careerworking on her farm in Otsego. Survivingare her daughter, Brenda Dunklee ofOtsego; four grandsons, Richard (Jamie)Dunklee, Matthew (Jammie) Dunklee,Nathan (Jamie) Dunklee and TimothyDunklee, all of Otsego; nine great-grandchildren; her siblings, Robert(Carol) Burrows of AZ, Richard Seekmanof AZ, Stanley Seekman of Otsego, MaryAnn Schiero of Otsego, Karen (Jack)Campbell of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law,Carol Seekman of Otsego; many niecesand nephews. Jackie passed away atBorgess Medical Centeron May 10, 2014 with herfamily by her side. Jackie,the only daughter of 3children, was born May30, 1947 to Evelyn andJames Babbitt. Jackie

married David Lakie Jr., her first and onlylove, on June 11, 1965. She worked asa cosmetologist until she and herhusband became general managers forIdeal Roller Rink in Plainwell, MI. Alsoduring this time she and David started aTowing Service. Years later, they movedinto their long time home on Miller Roadwhere they continued their successfulbusiness called Dave’s Towing Service.They owned and operated this businesstogether for almost 40 years. Jackiespent a lot of her time with her motherEvelyn. They did everything together andwere nearly inseparable. Jackie enjoyedlistening & singing along to oldies musicfrom the 40’s 50’s & 60’s. She was anamazing cook & never disappointedaround the holidays with her homemadetreats. She also enjoyed shopping, minivacations, roller skating and bowling.She was on a bowling league for manyyears where she met many of her life-long friends. Jackie and Dave alsoenjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.Jackie was held dearly in the hearts ofmany people, especially her nieces andnephews. She had a very special bondwith the children of her siblings. “AuntJackie” was a name given to her by notonly her family but by the many peopleshe helped in her life. She was thewoman who made sure that her familystayed in contact by organizing birthdayand holiday parties. Jackie will bemissed by many but never forgotten. Hermemories will be held close by herfriends and family. Jackie is preceded indeath by her father James Babbitt,mother Evelyn Babbitt and brotherDennis Babbitt.
