Acts 16:2120 and when they had brought them to the chief magistrates, they said, “These men are throwing our city into confusion, being Jews,21 and are proclaiming customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.”

Philippians 3:20-2120 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;

21 who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

John 18:36-3736 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.”

➢ When I’m seeing it more clearly, I remember:


- What produces real change: The Gospel


- Satan wants us to make political victories an idol.

Luke 2:1-21 Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth.2 This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.


- Politics is just backgroundfor the real story

of God’s work.

Revelation 1:55 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood—


- God is the one who rules.

3) A Reminder about Prayer


1 Timothy 2:1-21 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.


Prayers for our country might include:

Thanksgiving

Forgiveness

Guidance

Philippians 4:6-76 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.


No matter what happens in American politics,

we will keep doing the more important things, living out

the mission of God…

James 5:16

16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective

prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
