Connect Blackberry Playbook

Turn on Blackberry Playbook and select Settings Icon ( ), then select

Bluetooth. Ensure Bluetooth connectivity is ON then select Add New Device. The

Blackberry Playbook will search for the Bluetooth keyboard automatically. Input

the code prompt on the screen of the Blackberry Playbook with the Bluetooth

keyboard. After pairing is successful, the Bluetooth symbol will be highlighted.1. Go to Settings ( ) > Bluetooth.2. Tap Bluetooth ON.

3. Tap “Add New Device” on the bottom on the screen.4. The Playbook will list the devices found. The Bluetooth keyboard will show up as “Gnarlyfish Keyboard 8005456”. 5. Tap on it to pair.6. You will now be prompted to enter a PIN number using your keyboard.

7.Enter the PIN from your keyboard and press ENTER to complete the pairing.8.The keyboard will show up under Paired Devices.

ChargingThe built-in Li-ion battery may not be fully charged when using the Bluetooth keyboard for the first time. Charge the battery fully before use. Connect the keyboard with the Micro USB charging cable, a red light turns on when charging. The red light will turn off when the battery is full or the cable is pulled out.

Power OnSwitch the power button to the left, the blue light turns on and the keyboard will search for devices it has been paired with. The device will connect automatically, and the blue light will turn off.

Power OffSwitch the power button to the right and the blue light turns off.

Pairing the KeyboardSwitch the power button to the left to turn on the keyboard. If the keyboard does not connect with the device it was paired with within 5 seconds, it goes into pairing mode and the blue light flashes quickly.

Working StateBlue light flashes every 10 seconds when pairing is successful.

Keyboard Character FunctionsThe keyboard has various characters. Depending on the position of the character on the keypad, you may be required to hit Shift or Fn to input.

(location of silkscreen characters) A. For characters in position 1, press Shift and the key. B. For characters in position 2, press Fn, Shift, and the key. C. For characters in position 3, press the key directly. D. For characters in position 4, press Fn and the key, To enter the special characters in position 2, press Shift, and the key. Note: The following keys do not function with the Blackberry Playbook system: A. The and , are only applicable in iOS system. B. Fn+(F1, F2~F12), Fn+(Insert, PrtScr/SysRq, PgUp, Pause/Break, Home, PgDn, End) keys are only applicable in the Windows system.

TroubleshootingIf you are unable to connect your Bluetooth® Keyboard or the keyboard is not responding normally, please try the following:

• Before you install the Bluetooth Keyboard, please make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.• Ensure the Bluetooth Keyboard is within a 10 meter range of your device.• Ensure the PIN is entered correctly (repeat the PIN and press ENTER).
