This is the quick version of how to add background pictures, slides, or imagesinto the majority of applications/programs available today. For detailedinformation on how to add JPEG (.JPG) images from the CD(s) into yourparticular application/program, please refer to your application manual.

If you lose this booklet, the “OWO Presentation Booklet.pdf” file on each CD containsthe exact same information contained in this booklet. You can print or preview the PDFversion of the booklet or print extra copies.

• MicroSoft PowerPoint®:1 . Find the Image you want to use by looking through the pages that correspond to

the CD you have purchased (see contents for page numbers).2. Open the Application/Program or Document that you wish to add background pictures

or images into.3. A) Adding an Image as a ‘Background Slide’:

1 . Go to the ‘Format’ menu, select ‘Slide Background...’2. On the pop-up menu under ‘Background Fill’, go to ‘Fill Effects’, then click the

‘Picture’ tab.3. Click the ‘Select Picture...’ button, then there will be a dialog box asking you

to find the image.4. Depending upon which CD(s) you purchased, navigate to the ‘Verse Bursts

Images’ folder, the ‘Amplified Images’ folder, or the ‘Color Concoctions Images’ folder on the appropriate CD.

5. Click the file name you want*, click ‘Insert’, and then click ‘OK’.6. To apply the change to the current slide, click ‘Apply’. To apply the change to

all slides, click ‘Apply to All’.B) Adding an Image as ‘Clip Art’:

1 . Go to the ‘Insert’ menu, select ‘Picture’, then ‘From File...’ then a dialog box will ask you to find a file.

2. Depending upon which CD(s) you purchased, navigate to your ‘Verse Bursts Images’ folder, ‘Amplified Images’ folder, or the ‘Color Concoctions Images’ folder on the appropriate CD.

3. Click the file name you want*, click ‘Insert’.

* If you are using Windows and are navigating to your image from a dialog box, and the folder appears empty, make sure that you are viewing ‘All Files’ in the ‘Files of Type’ field.(Hint: Once you have navigated through the ‘Select Picture’ dialog box to the folder containingall the images on the CD(s), you can type the first three numbers of the image file you want toquickly select it, without having to use the mouse.)

• Adobe PageMaker and Photoshop:Go to the ‘File’ menu and select ‘Place’. A dialog box will appear. Navigate to your CD and thefolder containing all the images. Select the image and click ‘OK’ or ‘Place’. The image will nowappear in your document.

• AppleWorks/ClarisWorks:First select your pointer tool. Then go to the ‘File’ menu and select ‘Insert’. A dialog box willappear. Navigate to your CD and the folder containing all the images. Select the image and click‘OK’. The image will now appear in your document.

• WordPerfect:Go to the ‘Graphics’ menu, from which you select ‘Image’ or ‘Figure’ (in early versions).An Insert dialog box appears for you to navigate to your image.

• Other programs work in similar ways as above:Almost all programs will “Insert/Place/Import” JPEG graphics. Just a few examples wouldbe: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, WordPerfect, Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop,PageMaker, FreeHand, Illustrator, ClarisWorks/AppleWorks, and many others. Pleaserefer to your application manual on how to “Insert/Place/Import” JPEG graphics.
