of employment law issues you need to be aware of can be overwhelming. From benefits administration and record keeping to interpersonal disputes and disciplinary action, the list is endless and so are the pressures.

Donna Rogers, instructor of management, graduated with a Masters of Education (MEd) in Human Resources Development (HRD) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with honors. Her Human Resources career began in 1991 and ten years later she was certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and has continued to recertify currently through 2022. Donna is the owner of Rogers HR Consulting and serves as a consultant for the Counties of Illinois Risk Management Agency (CIRMA). She regularly delivers presentations among professional groups and has guest lectured at Benedictine University/Springfield College in Illinois.

ELECTIONS SAFER FROM CYBERCRIMINALS Speaker: Chris Hill, LRS Everyone has a stake in election security.

Each election authority can turn to the elections handbook from the Center for Internet Security to find best practices for assessing their systems against the recommended controls, but the big questions is where and how to start. This session will help you understand these “recommendations” and how each election authority can improve its practices.

Chris Hill, Security Practice Leader for LRS and the former Chief Information Security Officer at the Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT). Chris has more than 23 years of professional experience in the state information technology environment. At DoIT, Chris was actively engaged in the IT transformation effort, working with the Information Security team, assisting in the development of cyber security capabilities for Illinois, specifically in the areas of governance, risk and compliance, security operations, security engineering, as well as identity and access management.

I do not recommend calling the hotel to make reservations. Often, you get forwarded to the central reservation line and they do not always have (or give) accurate information. If you need to call the hotel, call 217-789-1530 and select option 1 for guest room reservations. The hotel will provide you with a confirmation number when you make your reservation.  Rate: $95 plus tax (King or Double). Self-Parking is complimentary for those staying at the hotel.

Cancellation Policy: Conference registrations made and not cancelled will be billed. Cancellations must be made in writing on or before April 6 to receive a refund. All refunds (less a $25 processing fee) will be made via a check mailed to the attendee after the conference.
