The Dubbo College students showcased their considerable talents in producing a very high quality musical extravaganza which totally enraptured our students. It was wonderful to see our students so engaged and inspired by the older students. I believe the overall value for our students was that it was other students performing as opposed to adults and it inspired them to look ahead and see what may be opportunities for them in secondary school. Very, very impressive. Next week we celebrate School Ancillary Support (SAS) week. SAS is the support staff in our school who do an amazing job to ensure that our school runs smoothly and support all of our students and parents. In lots of ways they are the unsung heroes in our school. To Michelle Dunn, Kim Bell, Nigel Payne and Stan Yates we say a HUGE thank you for undoubtedly you make our school a better place to be. Regards Principal Hay Day Well done to everyone for getting into the spirit and dressing up for our Hay Day fund raiser. Thank you for your generous donations which combined with our other lunch fundraising made a truly substantial sum for a school of our size: $500. Not only that but the rain/ folk/ boot scooting dances of Friday brought on some welcome rain over the weekend. You beauty! Director Visit On Friday September 7 we will be having a visit from our Director, Mrs Adelia Fuller who will be assessing how the school is performing across a wide range of areas and providing ideas or support in any areas in which we seek additional assistance. She always enjoys her Wongarbon visits and mixes warmly with staff and students, showing a genuine interest in our school.

Dear Parents and Caregivers

What a sensational performance by the Dubbo College Band and choir last Monday. Hay Day

Well done to everyone for getting into the spirit and dressing up for our Hay Day fund raiser. Thank you for your generous donations which combined with our other lunch fundraising made a truly substantial sum for a school of our size: $500.

Not only that but the rain/ folk/ boot scooting dances of Friday brought on some welcome rain over the weekend. You beauty!

Director Visit

On Friday September 7 we will be having a visit from our Director, Mrs Adelia Fuller who will be assessing how the school is performing across a wide range of areas and providing ideas or support in any areas in which we seek additional assistance.

She always enjoys her Wongarbon visits and mixes warmly with staff and students, showing a genuine interest in our school.

Wongarbon Public School where we “Try Always”

Shuffling the Deck Chairs

In the next few weeks we are very fortunate to have Miss Kate Ellem (K/1/2) and Mrs Zilla Rogers (Yr3/4) taking Miss Muir and Mrs Rich’s class whilst they are on leave.

We are very fortunate to have two highly motived, proactive teachers replacing Miss Muir and Mrs Rich during their time of leave.

Itchy and Scratchy

Many local schools have reported an outbreak of nits and head lice. Please check your children’s hair and if finding any nits (like unmovable dandruff) or head lice treat accordingly.

As a further proactive step we ask that all students with long hair have their hair tied back or plaited to discourage any possible catching of or spreading of the little critters.

CWA International Day

On Friday, September 7, our local CWA will be having their International Day at our school. Usually they have a guest speaker on the Country of Study which this year is Poland. They usually also provide food samples for the children which originates from the Country of Study. At this stage we have no definite details, so stay tuned for an information note next week.

The senior students have been busy preparing PowerPoint Presentations on Poland and the middle years making posters and our younger students, flags. It is always a great Day.
