IMPORTANT NOTICE!If you are yearning for an old-fashioned Christmas, completed with a “live” tree decked with popcorngarland, carolers singing, mistletoe and holly. Alongwith a family relaxing from the feast as they dry theirteary eyes during the last minutes of “It’s aWonderful Life,” then you are missing the mostimportant part... the reason for the season. The firstChristmas story begun 2000 years ago remains thesame. In a cold dark, cave for animals, in the littletown of Bethlehem, meaning “The House of bread,”Mary gave birth to the “Bread of life,” Jesus and laidhim in a food trough, the manger. The carolers wereangels announcing the birth to some nervous shep-herds tending their flocks in the fields. Their mes-sage, Joy to the world! The Savior is Born! Let earthreceive her King! For God so loved the world, thatHe sent His only Son. (John 3:16).How can you ever repay God for the gift of His Son?Hopefully, your gift this year, will be to use yourGod-given free will to come and adore Him, as wellas inviting back someone who has been away fromthe faith too! You wouldn’t want someone to forgetyour birthday, how do you think Jesus feels when weforget to honor his birthday with a visit to churcheither or to share our many gifts with those who areunemployed, sick or forgotten? The Christ child isthe hope for all! The Brighton Park Life for years, has published the church schedules for the manyholy day services. Please give back to God at least anhour of your time and bring a friend also. You willnever regret making God smile. Merry Christmasfrom Deacon Larry Chyba, St. Richard Church. Seeyou in church?
