A hot spring and warm and dry 2018 summer had the vineyards well advanced and in great condition leading in to the fall. Following this, a very cool August and September slowed ripening to a crawl. Thankfully dry conditions and a lack of frost events allowed the grapes to achieve ripe and pure fruit flavours, while still retaining fresh acidity and great fruit aromas. White wine grapes were harvested slightly later than average but still achieved

great flavour ripeness and balance.

Sharp Rock and Double Black Vineyards. Deep sandy soils.  Steep (Sharp Rock) and moderate (Double Black) west facing slopes.

Vineyard Detail

The 20th vintage of the Nota Bene is comprised of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and new this year, 1% of Petit Verdot. This is the first vintage crafted by our winemaker, Master of Wine Ross Wise. On the nose this wine has pronounced aromas of ripe black fruits like mulberries, blackberries and plums. On the palate, the grippy tannins mixed with flavours of blackberries, mocha and dried herbs will pair perfectly with barbequed ribs or a hearty steak. This wine is deep and complex and can be decanted to

enjoy this evening or cellared for up to 10 years.
