Troop Rewards

February 3 Cookie sale begins. She has picked up her cookies from her troop and begins selling them. If she runs outs of cookies, she can continue selling by taking orders. Collect money at time of sale.

By February 10, 17, 24 & March 3, 10 (weekly) Turn in money collected from cookie sales to your Troop Cookie Coordinator and place an additional order for cookies if needed.

By February 21 Return any unopened, non-written on cases of cookies to your Troop Cookie Coordinator for return. This is your only opportunity to do so.

March 11 End of Cookie Sale. All cookies should be sold and money collected. Turn in all money to your Troop Cookie Coordinator. If you still have unsold cookies keep selling! It is your responsibility to sell all your cookies and turn in all money collected.

February 3 Cookie sale begins. Girls start taking orders. Remember, you do not collect any money until you deliver the cookies in March.

February 22 Double check your math on your order card then submit the order to your troop co-leaders.

Between March 2-6 Pick up your cookies from your troop and begin delivering to customers and collecting money.

March 11 End of Cookie Sale. All cookies should be delivered and money collected. Turn in all money to your Troop Cookie Coordinator.

4 Ways to Sell CookiesDIRECT SALE allows girls to have packages of cookies in-hand to sell door-to-door to family, friends and neighbors. Girl Scouts exchange cookies and payment in one easy step.

ORDER TAKING requires girls to make two trips to a customer’s house - once to ask them to order cookies and a second time to deliver the cookies. Girls collect money at the time of delivery only.

BOOTH SALES are usually a troop event scheduled by the troop. Girl Scouts gather together at public places (grocery stores are popular!) to sell cookies. At booth sales girls work together to achieve troop and individual sales goals.

ONLINE SALES (also called Digital Cookie) are ideal for Girl Scouts with family members living too far away to support her cookie sale. Girls send a Smart Cookies Direct Ship eCard, via email, inviting family and friends to order cookies from her online. Cookies and shipping costs are paid online using a credit card, and the cookies are shipped directly to their home.

Send Smart Cookies Direct Ship eCards to your customers. Choose from these two eCard options:

1) Ship cookies directly to your customers without having to worry about money collection or hand delivery. Your customer will place and pay for their cookies (and shipping) online.

2) With this eCard, the customer can make a “promise order.” They can complete the online order form and let you know what they intend to buy but they don’t pay online. Instead, you will fulfill the order, deliver their cookies and collect their payment in person.

Digital Cookie Sale Instructions1. Look for an email from abcsmartcookies.com. - This contains a link for your girl to get started. - Click the link to begin. Complete the profile page which includes selecting a username and password. - Click submit to complete the registration.

2. Look for an email confirming her account set-up. - Save the email because it has the username and password which you’ll need each time you log in.

3. Log in to her account at abcsmartcookies.com and help her set up her dashboard and sales goal.

4. Select the ‘eCard’ tab, add contacts, then generate eCards to family and friends.

Cookie Money

Cookie Returns

Customers make checks payable to your troop or Badgerland Council.

Money is collected from customers when cookies are delivered. Customers may pay in cash or with a check payable to your troop or Badgerland Council.

A customer never writes out a check to a parent or girl. If this is done and the check becomes NSF, Badgerland will not be able to help in collecting the funds from the customer.

Parents are financially responsible for all cookies received. If your Girl Scout is unable to complete her cookie sale, some cookies may be returned. Parents may return unopened, clean cases of cookies to their troop co-leaders on or before February 21. This is the only opportunity to return cookies.

y Buddy up. Always sell with another person.

y Wisconsin law requires children under 9 to be supervised by a person 16 or older when selling or delivering a product.

y Girls do not give her phone number, address or last name to customers.

y Never enter another person’s home. All cookie sales are made at the door.

y Girls should not carry large sums of money. All money needs to be turned in promptly and frequently by a responsible adult rather than sending it to school.

y A Girl Scout should always wear her uniform when selling cookies!

Safety FirstCookie FAQsWhat are the cookies for sale? There are eight varieties: Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, Shortbreads, Thanks-A-Lots, Lemonades, Peanut Butter Sandwiches and, returning this year, S’mores.

How much do the cookies cost? $4 per box. Cookies must be sold at this price.

What about gluten free cookies? We’ve got those too and it’s up to each troop whether to sell gluten free cookies, which cost $5 per pouch. Each troop was invited to pre-order these cookies and supply is limited. Check with your troop co-leaders to know if your troop is selling gluten free cookies.

What if we run out of cookies? No worries. Contact your troop co-leaders to get restocked.

What happens if I don’t choose a reward? If a girl does not submit her rewards form by March 19 she will receive Badgerland Bucks as her reward.

How Cookie Dollars Are Spent

Cookie Share allows customers to purchase cookies that will be donated. Customers pay for cookies but do not receive them. The troop coordinates delivery to their chosen cause, such as a food pantry or a Ronald McDonald House.

These orders are written in the Cookie Share column on the order card. The cookies are included in girls’ totals and count toward rewards. All Cookie Share money must be turned in to your Troop Cookie Coordinator so the cookies can be delivered to the troop’s chosen cause.

Every Girl Scout who participates in Cookie Share earns the Cookie Share patch!
