Breaking chains that were holding me. You sent Your Son down and set me free.

Romans 6:20-23

20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you

reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you

have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the

result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our

Lord.

I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever. I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you

forever. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. Let each generation tell its children of

your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles.

Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness. Everyone will share the story of your wonderful

goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness. The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled

with unfailing love. The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. All of your works will thank you,

Lord, and your faithful followers will praise you. They will speak of the glory of your kingdom; they will give examples of your

power. They will tell about your mighty deeds and about the majesty and glory of your reign. For your kingdom is an everlasting

kingdom. You rule throughout all generations.

never slumbers or sleeps.

The Lord himself watches over you!

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18

All this is from God,

who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19

that God was reconciling the

world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of

reconciliation. 20

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We

implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him

we might become the righteousness of God.

5. Because He Lives Words and Music by: Gloria and William J. Gaither

CHORUS:

D G

Because He lives I can face tomorrow,

D A-A7

Because He lives all fear is gone;

D-A7-D G

Because I know He holds the future.

D A7 D

And life is worth the living just because He lives.

Hebrews 7:23-28

There were many priests under the old system, for death prevented them from remaining in office. But because Jesus lives

forever, his priesthood lasts forever. Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He

lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.

He is the kind of high priest we need because he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners

and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven. Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices

every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he

offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins. The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But

after the law was given, God appointed his Son with an oath, and his Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever.

6. Before The Throne Of God Above Words and Music by: Charitie Less Bancroft and Vikki Cook from Hebrews 7:23-26

VERSE 1:

D G/D D

Before the throne of God above,

D F#m

I have a strong, a perfect plea,

G A Bm

A great High Priest whose name is "Love,"

G Em7 G/A D (Em7 D Em7 D Em7 D)

Who ever lives and pleads for me.

G D

My name is graven on His hands,

G A Bm

My name is written on His heart;

G A Bm

I know that while in heav'n He stands

G Em7 G/A Bm

No tongue can bid me thence depart.

G Em7 G/A D Em7 D Em7 D Em7 D

No tongue can bid me thence depart.

VERSE 2:

D G/D D

When Satan tempts me to despair,

D F#m

And tells me of the guilt within,

G A Bm

Upward I look and see Him there

G Em7 G/A D

Who made an end to all my sin.

G D

Because the sinless Savior died,

G A Bm

My sinful soul is counted free;

G A Bm

For God, the Just, is satisfied

G Em7 G/A Bm

To look on Him and pardon me.

G Em7 G/A D Em7 D Em7 D Em7 D

To look on Him and pardon me.

VERSE 3:

D G/D D

Behold Him there! The risen Lamb,

D F#m

My perfect, spotless Righteousness,

G A Bm

The great unchangeable I AM,

G Em7 G/A D

The King of glory and of grace!

G D

One with Himself I cannot die,

G A Bm

My soul is purchased by His blood;

G A Bm

My life is hid with Christ on high,

G Em7 G/A Bm

With Christ, my Savior and my God

G Em7 G/A D (Em7 D Em7 D Em7 D)

With Christ, my Savior and my God

Hebrews 7:23-26

Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus

lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through

him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the

heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and

then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. For the law appoints

as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made

perfect forever.

Psalm 107:10-16

Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom,

imprisoned in iron chains of misery.

They rebelled against the words of God,

scorning the counsel of the Most High.

That is why he broke them with hard labor;

they fell, and no one was there to help them.

“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,

and he saved them from their distress.

He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom;

he snapped their chains.

Let them praise the Lord for his great love

and for the wonderful things he has done for them.

For he broke down their prison gates of bronze;

he cut apart their bars of iron.

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes,

everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have

discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. I no longer

count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s

way of making us right with himself depends on faith.

Colossians 3:1-4

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of

honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life

is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

Psalm 84:1-2; 10-12

1 How lovely is your dwelling place,

Lord Almighty!

2 My soul yearns, even faints,

for the courts of the Lord;

my heart and my flesh cry out

for the living God.

10 Better is one day in your courts

than a thousand elsewhere;

I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God

than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;

the Lord bestows favor and honor;

no good thing does he withhold

from those whose walk is blameless.

12 Lord Almighty,

blessed is the one who trusts in you.

Ezekiel 37:1-14

The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones. He led me all around among the

bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and were completely dried out. Then he asked

me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” “O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to

that.”Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! This is what

the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover

you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’” So I spoke this message, just

as he told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached

themselves as complete skeletons. Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies,

but they still had no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic

message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they

may live again.’” So I spoke the message as he commanded me, and breath came into their bodies. They all came to life and stood up on

their feet—a great army. Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel. They are saying, ‘We have become

old, dry bones—all hope is gone. Our nation is finished.’ Therefore, prophesy to them and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: O

my people, I will open your graves of exile and cause you to rise again. Then I will bring you back to the land of Israel. When this

happens, O my people, you will know that I am the Lord. I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live again and return home to your own

land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I have done what I said. Yes, the Lord has spoken!’”

Ephesians 2:1-18

Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world,

obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse

to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very

nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when

he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with

Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all

future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who

are united with Christ Jesus.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a

reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us

anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of

their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts. In those days you were living apart from

Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had

made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once

you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.

For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross,

he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and

regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together

as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was

put to death.

He brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from him, and peace to the Jews who were near. Now

all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.

Romans 3:23-26

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are

righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the

sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This

sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was

looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for

he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.

Psalm 95:1-7

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;

let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving

and extol him with music and song.

3 For the Lord is the great God,

the great King above all gods.

4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,

and the mountain peaks belong to him.

5 The sea is his, for he made it,

and his hands formed the dry land.

6 Come, let us bow down in worship,

let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;

7 for he is our God

and we are the people of his pasture,

the flock under his care.

Psalm 93

1 The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is

established, firm and secure.

2 Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity.

3 The seas have lifted up, Lord, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.

4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea—the Lord on high is mighty.

5 Your statutes, Lord, stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days.

Psalm 104:1-9

1 Praise the Lord, my soul. Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

2 The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent

3 and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of

the wind.

4 He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.

5 He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.

6 You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.

7 But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;

8 they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them.

9 You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth.

Psalm 145:8-16

The LORD is gracious and compassionate,

slow to anger and rich in love.

The LORD is good to all;

he has compassion on all he has made.

All you have made will praise you, O LORD;

your saints will extol you.

They will tell of the glory of your kingdom

and speak of your might,

so that all men may know of your mighty acts

and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,

and your dominion endures through all generations.

The LORD is faithful to all his promises

and loving toward all he has made.

The LORD upholds all those who fall

and lifts up all who are bowed down.

The eyes of all look to you,

and you give them their food at the proper time.

You open your hand

and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

Luke 15:3-7

So Jesus told them this story: “If a man has a

hundred sheep and one of them gets lost,

what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-

nine others in the wilderness and go to

search for the one that is lost until he finds

it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully

carry it home on his shoulders. When he

arrives, he will call together his friends and

neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because

I have found my lost sheep.’ In the same way,

there is more joy in heaven over one lost

sinner who repents and returns to God than

over ninety-nine others who are righteous

and haven’t strayed away!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders

and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our

eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its

shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Worship the Lord with gladness.

Come before him, singing with joy.

The eternal God is your refuge,

Philippians 4:4-8

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember,

the Lord is coming soon.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then

you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as

you live in Christ Jesus.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and

lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

2 Corinthians 4:8-12

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned;

struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may

also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his

life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

Ephesians 2:1-10

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this

world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived

among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by

nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even

when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us

with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his

grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not

from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ

Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15

The Spirit you received does not

make you slaves, so that you live in fear again;rather, the Spirit you received brought about your

adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16

The Spirit himself testifies with our spiritthat

we are God’s children. 17

Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with

Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Hebrews 4:12-16

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting

between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he

is the one to whom we are accountable.

So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us

hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced

all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious

God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be

afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”

Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really

you, tell me to come to you, walking on the

water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter

went over the side of the boat and walked on

the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the

strong wind and the waves, he was terrified

and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he

shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and

grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus

said. “Why did you doubt me?” When they

climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.

Romans 8:31-39

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare

even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen

for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ

Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are

persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory

is ours through Christ, who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,

neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No

power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of

God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew 21:6-11

The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed

them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed

their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. A very

large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while

others cut branches from the trees and spread them on

the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and

those that followed shouted,

"Hosanna to the Son of David!"

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"

"Hosanna in the highest!"

When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was

stirred and asked, "Who is this?"

The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet

from Nazareth in Galilee."

Zechariah 9:9-12

Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion!

Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem!

See, your king comes to you,

righteous and having salvation,

gentle and riding on a donkey,

on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

I will take away the chariots from Ephraim

and the war-horses from Jerusalem,

and the battle bow will be broken.

He will proclaim peace to the nations.

His rule will extend from sea to sea

and from the River to the ends of the earth.

As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with

you, I will free your prisoners from the waterless pit.

Return to your fortress, O prisoners of hope; even

now I announce that I will restore twice as much to

you.

Isaiah 9:6-7

For to us a child is born, to us a son is

given, and the government will be on his

shoulders. And he will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and

peace there will be no end. He will reign

on David's throne and over his kingdom,

establishing and upholding it with

justice and righteousness from that time

on and forever. The zeal of the LORD

Almighty will accomplish this.

John 16: 31-33

Jesus asked, “Do you finally believe? But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when you

will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving me alone. Yet I am not alone because the

Father is with me. I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you

will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord from the heavens!

Praise him from the skies!

Praise him, all his angels!

Praise him, all the armies of heaven!

Praise him, sun and moon!

Praise him, all you twinkling stars!

Praise him, skies above!

Praise him, vapors high above the clouds!

Let every created thing give praise to the Lord,

for he issued his command,

and they came into being.

He set them in place forever and ever.

His decree will never be revoked.

Praise the Lord from the earth,

you creatures of the ocean depths,

fire and hail, snow and clouds,

wind and weather that obey him,

mountains and all hills,

fruit trees and all cedars,

wild animals and all livestock,

small scurrying animals and birds,

kings of the earth and all people,

rulers and judges of the earth,

young men and young women,

Let them all praise the name of the Lord.

He has made his people strong,

honoring his faithful ones—

the people of Israel who are close to him.

Praise the Lord!

Colossians 1:13-23

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have

redemption, the forgiveness of sins. The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things

were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have

been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the

church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was

pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in

heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds

because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his

sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope

held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I,

Paul, have become a servant.

Revelation 21:1-4

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there

was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared

as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s

dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself

will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or

mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
