See the locations and times below. Make your exhibitors aware of these locations and dates so they can make plans to get their animals retinal imaged and classified.

If you have questions about the volunteer registration process, contact the State 4-H Office. Be sure to take care of registering these individuals in a respectful manner and complete this task before the show. In addition, make sure that new volunteers complete the livestock quality assurance program. REMINDER: 4-H/FFA MEMBERS MUST BE ETHICS CERTIFIED TO SHOW LIVESTOCK!! The Mississippi State Fair will be here soon and the Mississippi Livestock Quality Assurance training for NEW exhibitors, parents/guardians and volunteers must be completed by September 1, 2017. Youth going from a junior (age 8-13) to a senior (age 14-18) will need to be recertified as a senior. The training video is linked on the 4-H Livestock website (https://vimeo.com/channels/msues4hlivestock). The video is meant to give you as an Extension Agent or FFA Advisor the tools to conduct this training yourself, not simply to play the video. Once ethics certification has been completed, you should have the exhibitor(s) and family members who went through the training to each complete a Code of Conduct Agreement: 4-H/FFA Livestock Exhibitors (F1152) that can be accessed online as a PDF (http://extension.msstate.edu/publications/forms/code-conduct-agreement-4-hffa-livestock-exhibitors) and printed for your records. Be sure to assign each person an ethics number that is written on each form. OFFICIAL HEALTH CERTIFICATE – REMINDER An Official Health Certificate with each animal identified will be required on all livestock showing at the 2017 Mississippi State Fair. This includes all market animals, beef breeding cattle, commercial beef heifers, dairy cattle (purebred and commercial dairy heifers), dairy goats and commercial meat goat does.

2017 MISSISSIPPI 4-H HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP The 2017 Mississippi 4-H Horse Championship, including team demonstration, individual demonstration, public speaking, horse bowl, Hippology, horse judging, horse art and horse photography contests, was an outstanding event! The show ran extremely smooth and this is due to the fine work and cooperation of many, many people. We want to express our appreciation to all exhibitors, parents, volunteers, leaders, agents, and specialists for their excellent cooperation and interest in the 4-H horse program. We especially appreciate the Extension Agents/Program Associates and volunteers for working at the show and admire their dedication to seeing that the show is run in the best way possible. Of course, the work starts with the county programs and Extension Agents/Program Associates are to be commended for their support of this program.
