Questionnaire designAfour-itemquestionnairewasdevelopedbytheresearcher,whichaskedparticipantstoconsiderdifferentaspectsoftheweddingplanningprocess.Theywereaskedtoratetheextenttowhichtheyfeltstressed,at this particular point in time,abouteachoftheseaspectsusingafive-pointscale(where1=notstressedand5=extremelystressed).Aconsentformoutliningthenatureandpurposeoftheresearchwasprovided.

Questionnaire administrationStage1–Participantsatthebridalexhibitionweregivenacopyofthequestionnairetocompletebythemselves.

Oncecompleted,thequestionnairewasplacedinasecure,lockedboxtomaintainanonymity.Stage2–Participantsweremailedasecondcopyofthequestionnairewithinstructionstocompleteitanonymously

oneweekpriortotheirweddingdate.Astampedself-addressedenvelopewasincludedwiththequestionnaire.

Stage3–Participantsweremailedafinalcopyofthequestionnaireandaskedtocompleteitanonymouslyonemonthaftertheirweddingdate.Astampedself-addressedenvelopewasincludedwiththequestionnaire.
