• Professional Development Plan- Provides "on-going", sustained professional development based upon
analysis of assessment instruments- Provide administrators, certified teachers and classified personnel with
professional development designed to increase student achievement- Evaluation of professional development plan and corresponding activities
are provided to the administrators, teachers and classified personnel- Professional development for administrators will include opportunities in
three required areas, including fiscal management, educational leadership, and data analysis
- Professional development specifically targeted for literacy and math that aligns with guidelines outlined in NCLB to include
- PLC Institute in Springdale, AR - Arkansas Association of Middle Level Educators and Arkansas Kindergarten
Conference (to align with goals of K-1 Early Intervention Program)- Schools without Wall Technology Conference (fall); TESOL (spring)

Comprehensive School Health Program-- School Nutrition and Physical Education Program
• Establish committee and implement program goals andobjectives as set forth in ACT 1220 of 2003.
• Provide professional development for school nurses,administration, and certified teachers in areas relating toschool nutrition and physical education program.
• Include resources in areas relating to school nutrition andphysical activity in each of the Parent Centers.
• Provide six hours of professional development in topicsrelating to integrating physical education during the 2015-2016 related to physical education.

Homeless and Migrant ProgramsHomeless Program ($2,000.00)• Insure compliance with federal and state legislation in areas
pertaining to the identification and extension of services forhomeless children and unaccompanied youth.
• Include "set-aside" funds for allowable expenditures ofprograms and services extended to homeless children andunaccompanied youth.
• Provide professional development to district staff in theidentification and programs available to homeless childrenand unaccompanied youth.
Migrant Education Program• Insure compliance with federal and state legislation in areas
pertaining to educational programs for migrant students.

Parental Involvement Plan• Develop a Parental Involvement Plan that exhibits alignment with
Act of 307 of 2007.• Establish Parent Centers and a Parent Section in each of the school
libraries that include resources for parents.• Schedule a minimum of two parent/teacher conferences and
publish data pertaining to attendance at conference in localnewspaper.
• Establish a Volunteer Program in each building. This year we are adding the “Lion Buddy Program”.
• Schedule activities that encourage parental involvement at thebuilding level, including Multicultural Night, Parents Make a Difference Nights, Orientation, Scholarship and College Nights, Literacy and MathNights, and Benchmark Preparation Nights.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN2015-2016

The overall goal of the district professional development plan for the 2015-2016 school year will be to offer quality professional activities that are designed to increase student achievement, implement effective instructional strategies, and to encourage staff collaboration in the development and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum. The proposed topics will align with the approved area of professional development embedded with both the federal and state legislation. Teachers are required to earn 60 hours of professional development each year. The state is requiring 36 to maintain licensure.
