Resources Conference, Energize and Engage. This year’s conference promises to be both inspiring and educa onal
offering a variety of Human Resource topics to enhance your knowledge.

LOREN ANDERSON, ALASKA NATIVE HERITAGE CENTER Loren, (Sugpiaq) lived most of his childhood years in Washington State. Now living in Anchorage,
he composes tradi onal Na ve songs, carves and creates in various mediums and has helped
form a tradi onal Alu iq dance group, Imamsuat (People of the Sea). He is recognized as a
tradi on bearer by the Sugpiat culture of Kodiak Island and served on a commi ee for his
Regional Na ve Corpora on, Koniag, Inc. A graduate of the Humani es Forum Leadership
Anchorage program, Loren started his career at the Alaska Na ve Heritage Center as a volunteer
and now serves as Cultural Programs Manager.

The Alaska SHRM State Council was one of eight State Councils in the country recognized at
the 2013 SHRM Leadership Conference with a Pinnacle Award (the highest recogni on
provided by SHRM) for its revolu onary webinar program that has been in effect since 2011.
The program was conceived as a strategy of the council to provide
educa onal opportuni es that are mely and relevant to our members
throughout the state.
