Established in 1983 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the

DCTC Foundation functions as an avenue for gifts and grants

that benefit the college and our students.

By providing resources to students, the college and our

programs, the Foundation upholds the DCTC mission, which is

Education for Employment.

Dear Friends & Alumni,

It is my pleasure to share the 2012–2013 DCTC Foundation Annual Report. Each year the Foundation works diligently in securing financial contributions and in-kind donations to support scholarships, emergency grants and equipment needs of the college.

I hear inspiring stories everyday of students working two jobs, raising a family and studying hard to achieve their

dreams. Faculty and staff members tell me about students in crisis because their car broke down, they lost their job or their family is being evicted.

“I would like to say thank you for the emergency grant I received. It was very much needed and I greatly appreciate it. It is nice to know there are still generous people in the world.”

—Robin B., DCTC student

On behalf of the DCTC Foundation Board of Directors, thank you for the support and generosity you have demonstrated in changing the lives of DCTC students. As always, we promise to be good stewards of the resources you have entrusted with us.

With deepest gratitude,

Tharan W. LeopoldExecutive Director of Foundation & Alumni

“I have always had a passion for cooking

and a desire to start my own business,

but I had a lot to learn. DCTC is the best

thing that happened to me. Without the

“I started at DCTC during the summer with

15 credits and all passing grades. Then my

financial situation changed. I had to work

more and my grades declined. The scholarship

from DCTC has allowed me to dedicate time

to my classes. I already had the capability

to be 100 percent and I am again.”
